OnePlus phones have long been a favorite among Android enthusiasts thanks to their flagship specs at affordable prices. While we struggled to recommend the OnePlus 9 and 10, the company has recently begun to offer fantastic value phones again, starting with the OnePlus 11.

Now, with the introduction of the OnePlus 12, 12R, and Open, the lineup of OnePlus phones is easily able to compete with the Samsung Galaxy range or Google's Pixel phones. Now is the perfect time to consider a OnePlus phone.

However, the expanded lineup means it's harder than ever to pick a OnePlus phone. To help you out, we've brought together the best OnePlus phones, so you can waste less time shopping for an upgrade.

Top OnePlus phones for you right now

The OnePlus 12 might be $100 more than its predecessor, but it's still one of the best-value flagships on the market. The Snapdragon Gen 3 processor is the best-performing chipset for Android devices today, and the 5,400mAh battery will last you all day and more. It's a distinct improvement over the still-great OnePlus 11.

The best thing about the OnePlus 12 is that it does everything well. While Google Pixel phones offer better cameras, and the Samsung Galaxy software experience is more refined, the OnePlus 12 still takes excellent photos and is packed with helpful software tricks (and some weird ones, too, but these can be mostly ignored). While the design has barely changed, it is nevertheless fantastic value for $800.

The most notable upgrades the OnePlus Nord N30 5G brings to the tablet are its battery capacity and charging speed. The phone not only gets you a bigger battery but also a faster 50W charging speed. And as it's been with many OnePlus phones, the Nord N30 5G gives you enough juice with just a few minutes of charge — and the charger is included in the box. OnePlus decided to go with an LCD panel, which refreshes at a faster 120Hz (as opposed to 60Hz on its predecessor). The display left us impressed with its brightness and overall quality.

You will get Android 13 out of the box, and the phone is slated to receive another major Android update down the line. OnePlus has promised three years of security updates so that you won't have any trouble using the phone for several years. Unlike most flagships these days, the Nord N30 5G gets you a microSD card slot and even a headphone jack. We only wish OnePlus gave the phone a better camera system to take some nice photos.

OnePlus has burst into the foldable phone market this year with the OnePlus Open. The enthusiast brand has clearly learned from the hardships of early entrants like Samsung, managing to avoid the pitfalls to produce an impressive foldable that hits all the right notes for what a foldable should be. Despite its first-generation status, it's slim, light, has incredible screens both inside and out, and closes flat with no gaps. However, it's also unmistakably a OnePlus phone, from the Emerald Dusk finish and very prominent Hasselblad-branded camera bump on the exterior to OxygenOS under the hood.

It's no slouch in the performance department, either, sporting the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon Gen 2 chip that delivers top-notch speed and great battery life. While the camera performance doesn't hold up to traditional flagships from Google and Samsung, it definitely punches above its weight class for a foldable, producing accurate and balanced shots that don't feel like they're over-processed. Overall, it's one of the best foldables of the year and a great fit for the enthusiast brand. Sadly, the one big downside is that OnePlus continues its trend of omitting wireless charging from its higher-end phones, so you'll be stuck with plugging in to top up. However, the good news is that it still features OnePlus' signature fast charging, so you'll be able to get it up to 100% in under an hour.

The OnePlus 12R is almost a better overall pick than the OnePlus 12, so you don't miss out on much for $300 less. The biggest drawback is the mediocre cameras, but getting decent shots without waiting for perfect conditions or fiddling with the settings is still easy. What's most noticeable is the massive 5,500mAh battery, which charges at 80W in the US and 100W everywhere else. This means you can forget about charging the phone for many days.

Inside the OnePlus 12R is a Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 chip. While this isn't as powerful as the Gen 3 on paper, you won't notice the difference in reality. The 6.78-inch OLED screen is sharp and punchy; it's similar to phones twice the price.

Its design might be a little divisive, but the OnePlus 11 is a return to form for the company. It combines top-shelf specs, incredible battery life, and a competent camera system, all for a starting price of $700. It's still got OnePlus's crazy-fast wired charging at 80W (that's in the US; it charges at 100W internationally), plus it marks the return of another fan-favorite feature in the alert slider, which is conspicuously absent on 2022's OnePlus 10T.

Camera performance isn't quite what you'll get out of flagships from competitors like Samsung or Google. As fast as the OnePlus 11's wired charging is, that's the only way to top up — and not a great look, considering most other options around this price point offer wireless charging. Still, it's a great pick if you're looking for a flagship-tier experience for a little less. The OnePlus 11 is guaranteed security updates until 2028, too, so you shouldn't have any trouble making it last for years.

The OnePlus 10 Pro didn't wow us at its introductory price of $900, but it's a much stronger value on sale. The phone's got excellent hardware quality with a very cool texture on the back panel and a camera bump molded from ceramic. It's also got a fantastic 120Hz display, long-lasting battery life, and super-fast 65W charging. In the US, it's even faster than in other markets at 80W.

For the $550 you can get it for lately, there's plenty to like about the OnePlus 10 Pro. Its middling update commitment — Android version updates into 2025 and security patches one year longer — is also easier to swallow at a lower price.

The OnePlus Nord 300 5G is a fine, cheap option for those on T-Mobile. The phone costs about $230 when purchased from the carrier outright, but it's also regularly available for free on contract promotions. As you'd expect for a price just north of $200, the N300 isn't a powerhouse. For instance, it's got crummy cameras, inconsistent performance, and a 720p LCD. But that display is 90Hz, and the phone has features that aren't always guaranteed at such a low price point — like a fingerprint sensor and NFC for contactless payments, plus 33W wired charging with its bundled charger.

It launched with Android 12, but it's slated to get Android 13 at some point, plus security patches into 2024. That's not impressive these days, even for a cheap phone. But if you need something affordable for a year or two, and you're on T-Mobile (or subsidiary Metro), the N300 is a decent selection.

The OnePlus 10T is an interesting device. With a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset, it's actually faster than the more expensive OnePlus 10 Pro. It also features much faster wired charging at a crazy-quick 125W (in the US — it can reach 150W internationally). But its cameras are a marked downgrade from the 10 Pro, with lower-end hardware and no Hasselblad-branded color science. It'll get Android updates through August 2025 and security patches a year longer, which should be enough for most people — but it still lags behind much of the competition. It also misses out on wireless charging; worst of all, it doesn't have OnePlus's characteristic alert slider.

With its curious mix of upgrades and downgrades, OnePlus calls the 10T the company's "performance flagship." If you're in the market for a fast phone with a nice screen and don't want to spend four figures on it, the OnePlus 10T is a fine pick — especially at a discount, which it often is lately.

Which OnePlus phone should you buy?

OnePlus is regaining its position as the flagship-killing alternative, thanks to fantastic value phones like the OnePlus 12R. However, it still has many devices at various price points. The recent OnePlus 12 starts at $800 and offers flagship-tier components and performance — plus that beloved OnePlus calling card, the alert slider. It doesn't have the best cameras you can get or some convenient features like wireless charging, but it's a fine pick.

If you're in the market for a foldable smartphone, the OnePlus Open is worth a very serious look. While it doesn't have the cachet of Samsung's Galaxy Z Fold 5, it's amazing how many things OnePlus gets right here. The OnePlus Open has an elegant and lightweight design that feels great in hand, some of the best cameras available on a foldable, performance to spare, and excellent battery life.

Meanwhile, the OnePlus 11 and OnePlus Nord N30 also have many of the traits we loved about OnePlus's best phones in the past. Each has snappy performance and fantastic displays relative to its price tier and also offers decent enough battery life to last you a full day and then some. If you're set on OnePlus, there's a lot to like about each.
