Dell Thunder Spotted In The Wild, Running Android 2.1, Will Be Available Before The End Of The Year

Dell’s elusive not-a-tablet-phone has broken its cover once again, this time showing up on a video exclusive over at Engadget.

http://www.viddler.com/explore/engadget/videos/1717/

The phone remains unchanged on the hardware side of things, it seems, but it’s now confirmed to be running Android 2.1. We’ll go ahead and give you a quick brush-up lesson on what the Thunder is bringing (pun very much intended):

  • 4.1” WVGA AMOLED 480x800 display
  • Android 2.1 with Dell’s “Stage UI” overlay
  • 1 GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor
  • Removable 1400 mAh battery
  • 8MP camera with LED flash and 720p video recording
  • FM radio
  • External SD card support

Internal storage specs for the Thunder remain unknown.

HTC Desire HD Caught On Video, Looks Even Sexier Than The EVO?

HTC Desire HD Caught On Video, Looks Even Sexier Than The EVO?

In case a blurry picture and some unconfirmed specs weren’t enough for you, the Desire HD has already gotten a high quality video leak to call its own, and with it confirmation of all the great specs. While they certainly aren’t anything shocking, it serves to show us that the Desire HD is really pretty much a GSM EVO – but that doesn’t make it less impressive.

  • 1 GHz Snapdragon processor
  • 8 megapixel camera with dual LED flash
  • 4.3” WVGA screen
  • 720p recording
  • Android 2.2 with Sense
  • Front-facing camera

The only notable difference I can see between the EVO and Desire HD (besides the lack of a 4G radio in the latter) is the HD’s brushed aluminum body, which looks much nicer than the EVO, in my opinion.

[Video] 720P Recording Lands On CyanogenMod 6 (Froyo) For The Nexus One

[Video] 720P Recording Lands On CyanogenMod 6 (Froyo) For The Nexus One

No longer should Nexus One owners be jealous of their HTC Desire brethren. We’ve seen High-Def on the N1 before, and thanks to the continued hard work of Charan Singh and Cyanogen over at XDA-Developers, 1280 x 720 recording has finally come to an AOSP version of Froyo 2.2. The update.zip will only work for CyanogenMod versions greater than RC2, but it is expected to be ported to the popular LeoFroyo ROM and, who knows, maybe even the stock version of N1 Froyo in the future.

Samsung Shows Off All US Samsung Galaxy S Series Phones In This Promo Video - Share It With Your Non-Android Friends

Samsung Galaxy S series phones - Captivate, Vibrant, Epic 4G, and Fascinate - are definitely the cool new kids on the block, and Samsung wants everyone to know that.

In this relatively lengthy promotional video, Samsung has showcased all 4 models (though, we don't get much of the Fascinate past the initial glimpse), highlighting some important aspects of these devices, such as:

  • Super AMOLED display
  • keyboard on the Epic 4G
  • 1GHz Hummingbird CPU speed
  • 3D audio
  • DLNA output
  • Android 2.1 Eclair (though, the Froyo upgrade is only 1-2 months away)
  • TouchWiz interface
  • HD video
  • Swype
  • social integration
  • apps and 3D games
  • browser with pinch-to-zoom

Of course, they forgot to mention that the phones that are already out have been successfully rooted, but we'll keep that between us.

Video Review Of Samsung Galaxy S Running Android 2.2 Froyo

Video Review Of Samsung Galaxy S Running Android 2.2 Froyo

Yesterday night, a build of Froyo for Galaxy S was leaked by a previously relatively unknown Samsung firmware site Samsung-Firmware.com. Now, keep in mind, while this is an official build that came from Samsung itself, it is only a test version still using an Éclair kernel.

I wouldn't recommend you flash it just yet - instead we can enjoy this 9 minute video preview by the guys from HDBlog.it who already dared to take this ROM out for a spin.

Unboxing: Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini / Mini Pro

You didn’t think the unboxing goodness was over did you? Well just in case the Captivate and Intercept didn’t quite fill your appetite, here’s a two-in-one unboxing for you: Sony Ericsson’s XPERIA X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro.

In November 2009, Sony Ericsson announced its entry into the Android arena by adding the X10 to its XPERIA line. Three short months later, SE decided to put the X10 under a shrink-ray to create the X10 Mini and X10 Mini Pro.

AT&T’s Samsung Captivate Unboxing And Initial Hands-On!

AT&T’s Samsung Captivate Unboxing And Initial Hands-On!

Our friendly neighborhood FedEx employee stopped by this morning with our Samsung Captivate, so I figured I’d do a quick unboxing video, snap some pictures, and give you guys our initial thoughts before our review in a couple days.

The box itself is fairly boring, sticking with a generic “You bought a cell phone on AT&T!” design rather than trying to shake things up a la the EVO 4G’s eco-friendly box design, or Apple’s sleek iPhone packaging.

The Comeback: HTC EVO 4G VS iPhone 4 Parody Video, This Time From Apple's Side (Battery Jokes - Check)

The Comeback: HTC EVO 4G VS iPhone 4 Parody Video, This Time From Apple's Side (Battery Jokes - Check)

Earlier this morning we posted a hilarious video made by tinywatchproductions depicting an average iPhone user fanboy - the one who mindlessly gobbles up everything Steve and AT&T say and buys every iPhone just because it's an iPhone. Admit it - you know a few people like that.

Now in a comeback video, the same tinywatchproductions came up with a few things an iPhone user could counter with in a conversation with a mindless EVO 4G fan (do those exist?).

EPIC iPhone 4 VS HTC EVO 4G Parody Video [Warning: Foul Language - But So, So Good] #Apple #Fail

I resisted watching it for a long time after seeing it at the top of Reddit but @Eugene_373's tweet finally forced me to:

iPhone 4 vs EVO 4G

And now I can't not post it, because it is truly epic (I know, the word is overused but watch it first).

Without further ado, allow me to present to you iPhone 4 VS HTC EVO 4G (warning: blabla, cursing, blabla - don't watch it too loud at work).
