Swipe With Friends is like Tinder for finding movies and shows to watch

Swipe With Friends is like Tinder for finding movies and shows to watch

If you've ever tried to find the perfect movie or show to watch with your special someone at night, you know that it's sometimes more of a challenge than it should be — often you just end up scrolling through each other's watchlists and then settle for cable TV due to the lack of a decision. That's where somebody's genius idea comes in: What if there was an app for you and your partner where you swipe left and right on movies that are on your streaming services and when you match, it lets you know. It looks like a few people liked the idea so much they created a service just like that — their own takes on Tinder for movies and TV shows.

The Galaxy S21 comes with Google Messages pretty much everywhere but the US

It turns out that Samsung is pre-loading the Galaxy S21 with Google Messages in most markets, as Engadget learned from an interview with Google's Hiroshi Lockheimer yesterday. By doing so, Samsung joins other OEMs like OnePlus, LG, and Motorola in using Google's messaging app by default. Unfortunately, we in the US are stuck with the regular Samsung Messages.

The Galaxy S21 will soon locate your parked car and even unlock it

The star of yesterday’s Samsung event was definitely the new Galaxy S21 line, but there were so many more smaller bits of news joining it. iPhone 12 Mini review: I just want a good small Android phone — is that too much to ask?

Apple's iPhone 12 Mini will, I think, mark an end to small and good smartphones. That's not because it's bad, far from it; this is a great phone. But, it hasn't sold very well, and though they might argue otherwise, smartphone manufacturers are hardly altruistic. I wouldn't be surprised if Apple doesn't refresh this model next year. The iPhone 12 Mini may very well be the small phone swan song, and it really makes me wish a company in Android-land would make the mistake of copying it.

The Pixel 5 hisses after every vibration, and we can't unhear it

The Pixel 5 has been a controversial phone for Google, sacrificing some flagship gloss in exchange for a lower price. Starting back with the Pixel 2, Google's phones have had some of the best haptics available, and it looked like the Pixel 5 would continue that tradition. While it does for the most part, there's one minor quirk that's starting to drive us a little crazy.

Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra vs S21 Ultra: A notable upgrade?

Samsung made the Galaxy S21 lineup official yesterday, including the new S21 Ultra with S Pen support and a less outrageous (but still prohibitively high) price tag. But how does this new phone compare to its direct predecessor, the first Ultra in the S series? There are some notable upgrades paired with a collection of regressions, which makes the case for the S21 Ultra less than clear.
