Garmin has long been associated with GPS navigation, but most people aren't buying standalone GPS units anymore. The company has, however, been branching out to other product categories like wearables. Garmin's Vivofit fitness trackers have been reasonably popular, and there's a new version available today. The Vivofit 4 launches at $79.99. It's a bit more expensive, but the screen is color and it still gets a year of battery life. Read More
Samsung's latest wearables lineup has barely been on sale five minutes, but we're already seeing some good deals on them. The Gear Sport and Gear Fit2 Pro, both of which were only launched last month, can be had for $30 off the MSRP at the moment, from various retailers.
The Gear Sport was just reviewed by Ryan, and he was pretty impressed with it. He thought the experience was as close as he's seen to a compelling smartwatch for average users, with the high price point of £300 being one of the only negatives he could find with it. Read More
Samsung has launched the Geat Fit2 Pro, so the Gear Fit2 is officially yesterday's news. It's not terribly different from the new version, though, and it's heavily discounted on Verizon today. You can pick up the Gear Fit2 for $89.99, which is half of the MSRP, and a solid $30-50 less than the usual sale price. Read More
As the novelty of smartwatches begins to wear off a little (pun intended), the dust is settling and those companies capable of making passable devices are beginning to become more apparent. Huawei is one of them, and even though the Watch 2 Classic and Watch 2 Sport weren't quite as impressive as had been hoped, they still make for a good introduction to the Android Wear ecosystem if you can get a good deal on them. If you want something a little simpler that's just for sports, Huawei announced the Band 2 Pro fitness tracker earlier in the year with no Android Wear in sight. Read More
Samsung has stuck with wearables over the years, starting with its own Android-based Gear watches, then moving to Android Wear, then finally to a Tizen-based wearable platform. This has given Samsung the freedom to pursue a number of form factors like the "Fit" smart bands. The third iteration of Samsung's Fit device has been leaked, which is confusingly named "Samsung Gear Fit2 Pro." It packs improved water-resistance, offline Spotify, and a few other enhancements for athletic types. Read More
If you're in the market for a fitness tracker, but all the new smartwatches floating around don't excite you, then you might want to check out the deal that Verizon is running. You can pick up the Gear Fit2 for $99.99, which is a nice savings of $80. Oh, and there's free shipping. Read More
Okay, smartwatches are a bit of a tough sell right now, at least until Google shows us its vision for Android Wear early next year. In the meantime, fitness trackers are still a good wearable bet. The Fitbit Flex is on sale at Amazon today for a mere $50, but it won't ship right away. Read More
Samsung is whipping its accessory offerings into shape today with two new fitness-oriented products. The Gear Fit2 is about what you'd expect, a followup to the original Gear Fit smart sports band. The Gear IconX is something new from Samsung. It's a pair of completely wireless earbuds that include some standalone fitness tracking features. If this sounds familiar, that's because both products leaked in April. Read More
The Sony leaks are not over yet—Xperia Blog has what appears to be a press shot of the Xperia Z3 in copper, as well as a glimpse of Sony's new SmartBand. With an e-ink screen, this accessory will probably get mega-long battery life.
Everyone is making a wearable thing now, but you can't buy Razer's Nabu smart band just yet. The device is still in limited beta trials, but once it's out, the newly released Nabu Android app will tie it to your phone. I guess until then you can stare longingly at the login screen.
