Galaxy Tab S4 review: An overpriced tablet that is also a horrible laptop

If you've searched for an Android tablet in recent years, especially one in the premium segment, you've probably noticed that there are precious few options available. No Android manufacturer comes close to matching Apple's portfolio, and the one OEM that has dared to challenge the iPad's supremacy - Samsung - has generally done a pretty unremarkable job.

That hasn't stopped them from trying, though, and Samsung's back at it again with the Galaxy Tab S4, the latest and most expensive entry into the Tab lineup to date. Samsung's Galaxy Tab S4 is a $650 Android tablet with laptop ambitions

Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S4 this morning, a new 10.5" Android-powered tablet that seeks, first and foremost, to be seen as a laptop replacement (at a cost of another $150 for the keyboard dock). This would seem to squarely aim the Tab S4 to do battle with the array of Chromebook tablets and detachables likely to hit the market in the next year.

Samsung Galaxy Tab S4 confirmed as ditching fingerprint reader in favor of iris scanner

Despite the advent of jumbo-sized smartphones, and a slow but steady drop in global tablet sales reported over the last few years, Samsung is seemingly keeping the faith in the Galaxy Tab family.
