Multiple Sources Now Indicate That Android Wear Will Launch For iOS Soon

Today's leak of the Huawei Watch on Amazon referenced the fact that the device was compatible with "iOS 8.2 or higher." Normally, it might be easy to chalk up such a thing to an oversight or automatic field-fill on the merchant page.

But I'd take stock in that information: we've learned from a second, reliable source off the record that Android Wear will be receiving iOS support soon. How soon? It's possible we could see an announcement some time around IFA, which happens Sept. 4-9, though the announcement may not necessarily be at the show or even during it - it's not exactly clear.

More Images Of The Huawei Nexus (Angler) Leak Showing Off USB Type-C Port And Snapdragon 810

We got our best look yet at the Huawei Nexus phone (codename Angler) earlier today, and now we've got a few more pics from the same source. This time the phone is in a protective case that obscures many of the features, but there's one thing we can see plain as day—a USB Type-C port. It's happening.

Possible Photos Of Huawei's 'Angler' 5.7-Inch Nexus Phone Appear Online

We've seen what might be leaked photos of the 5.2-inch, LG-made successor to the Nexus 5, now we've got photos that are claimed to be the Huawei phone that's coming at the same time. Google+ user Tiessen Fu posted three photos of a previously unseen phone with both "Nexus" and "Huawei" labels on the back.

The photos show the front and back of the device, and what looks like a standard protective case. There's a circular area on the back (which is more or less the same as the design from the previous leak), and considering that the case has an access hole cut out for it, it's presumably a fingerprint reader.

Finger, Knuckle, Nail, Or Stylus? Qeexo FingerSense Is A Really Cool Software Solution That Knows The Difference

Knock Knock. Tap Tap. Scratch Scratch. Jot Jot. Wait, that's not how the joke goes. Let's try again. Knock Knock. Who's there? Fin. Fin who? Fin Gersense. Aha, now it makes sense.

Bay Area start-up Qeexo has been working on its FingerSense technology for several years, and it looks like it's starting to reap the fruits of its labor. The software solution, which allows modern touchscreen devices to detect the difference between fingertips, knuckles, nails, styli, and erasers, has been licensed by Huawei (under "Knuckle Sense") and has been shipping with its P8 and P8max since April. It's also included in the company's more recent Honor 7.

Android 5.1 Lollipop Preview Available For Huawei Ascend Mate2

Huawei has had a complicated relationship with the Ascend Mate2 and its software update. It originally announced that the device would stay on Android 4.3 last year, but then reversed itself and said the Mate2 would jump straight to Lollipop. It's taken a long time, but there's finally a public version of this update, but it's still technically a "preview."

Huawei Watch Reportedly Delayed Until Late Q3 Or Early Q4

A new report claims that Huawei has pushed back the release of the Huawei Watch until September or October. Of course, there was never an official launch date for the watch, but that's much later than everyone was expecting. The reason cited in the report for the delay is "incompatibility issues with Android Wear." That could mean any number of things.

Huawei Announces The Ascend P8 Lite For The US: Slick 5" Design, Dual SIM, And A Snapdragon 615 For $250 Unlocked

The $250 phone is available right now from Huawei's online store in black or white, and it doesn't look like the company is interested in selling through conventional carriers.

[Really?] Huawei Blatantly Photoshops Screen Bezels Out Of P8 And P8max Marketing Renders

False advertising is a pretty slimy thing, and with rendered product images being commonplace on the web now, the temptation to virtually nip and tuck your new gadget to beauty is stronger than ever. Case in point? Huawei's new P8 and P8max micro-sites, which pretty brazenly portray the new flagship devices with nothing but a metallic glint of a display bezel. Pretty impressive and, more importantly, good-looking. Too bad it's not real. The real Ascend P8max, for the record, looks like this. Now, compare that to the image at the top of this article. See a problem?

As is clearly visible on the left and right-hand sides of the live photo from Androidworld.it, the P8max has a very real vertical bezel.
