LineageOS ends official Nougat builds as Pie support approaches

LineageOS is one of the most popular custom ROMs available, with somewhere around two million active installations. It typically takes a while for the project to update to newer versions of Android, since development is largely done by maintainers in their spare time. Six months after the public release of Android 9 Pie, it looks like LineageOS is about ready to make the jump — but not before dropping older devices.

CyanogenMod 14.1 nightlies are coming to the Nexus 4, available for the Nexus 5 on CAF, T-Mobile LG G3, and more

Cyanogen Inc. may be dying as a company, but the voluntarily-maintained CyanogenMod ROMs are still alive and kicking. Case in point: seven more devices are joining CyanogenMod 14.1, which is based on Android 7.1 Nougat. Six of these Android-powered machines have builds already up, but one doesn't yet.

[Deal Alert] ASUS ZenPad S 8 Tablet Is Down $30 On Amazon To $169 For The 2GB/32GB Version, $269 For The 4GB/64GB One

ASUS' ZenPad S 8 is one of the more interesting Android tablets on the market right now. That isn't a lot to say given how tablet releases seem to have stalled and become a second-thought for most manufacturers, but it doesn't detract from the S 8's nice specs. The tablet, which was released back in July exclusively on Best Buy, has an 8" IPS 2048x1536 display at a 4:3 aspect ratio, a 64-bit Intel Atom Z3530 processor, with a MicroSD slot, USB Type-C connector, Android 5.0, and it usually retails for a very acceptable $199 or $299 depending on the storage and camera configuration.

ASUS Announces ZenWatch 2 (In Two Sizes), ZenFone Selfie, And New ZenPad Tablets (In Three Sizes)

Today at a press event during Computex, ASUS announced many new Android products, and I'm guessing you'll be intrigued by at least one of them.

ZenWatch 2

Let's get to the headliner: the big news with the ZenWatch 2 is that it now comes in two sizes - 37mm and 41mm (width). The smaller 37mm sports an 18mm strap, with the 41mm having a larger 22mm band. Both have AMOLED dipslays with Gorilla Glass 3, IP67 dust and water resistance, magnetic charging cables, and use unspecified Qualcomm processors (likely still a Snapdragon 400). The ZenWatch 2 has a crown now, too, which ASUS says adds functionality, but isn't exactly specifying how just yet.
