Heard of Mr. Robot, the popular USA show that features developers, hacking, giant, evil corporations, and computers? If so, listen up: Glitchskier is a game where the player hacks the computer to progress, defeating enemies, boss fights, and the system itself.
Playing Glitchskier doesn't really feel like a game at all. It's more like a computer, with the game prompting you to open a game-within-a-game to play. This thing is hard - maybe I'm just not very good at it, or I need more practice, but it's a tricky one to master. Simply put you, an arrow ship thing, need to destroy the enemies heading towards you as you advance through a level. Read More
Despite some deep problems with the initial launch and a steep drop-off in players after the novelty began to fade, Pokémon GO can't be called anything less than a massive success. Aside from securing a spot (if only a fleeting one) in wider pop culture, Niantic's augmented reality monster-catching game has also managed to warrant partnerships from real-world retail stores and secure no small amount of income from in-app purchases. How much isn't precisely known by anyone except Apple, Google, and Niantic, but one analytics firm has a guess. And that guess has nine zeroes in it. Read More
It's a big day for Nintendo fans: the company's first Android game is here. (So long as you don't count Miitomo... and since Nintendo seems kinda down on the Mii stuff lately, maybe you shouldn't.) Fire Emblem Heroes, a turn-based strategy game set in the long-running fantasy franchise, is now available on the Play Store in at least some countries. As of early this morning Pacific Time it hasn't dropped in the United States, but players in Japan, Australia, and Europe report that they're able to download it. If you can't wait for Nintendo's staggered rollout, the app is available on APK Mirror for a direct download. Read More

I love fantasy. Growing up as a huge Lord of the Rings nerd, I go crazy for books and games in the genre. I like the serious titles, but I also enjoy the fun, comical ones that do not take themselves too seriously (The Bard's Tale comes to mind). Book of Unwritten Tales 2 is just that: silly and whimsical. Read More

Another week, another combo of app and game deals on the Play Store. And this week, we have a great selection if you ask me.
The app is Twilight Pro Unlock, the paid version of Twilight which filters the blue light from your display at night to limit its effects on your sleep cycle. Even if that's not 100% proven scientifically, the soft red filter does indeed tone down the display and should be more pleasant to look at in dark environments and at night. The Pro version lets you set more than 2 profiles, adjust the transition time, and completely turn off the Twilight service on your phone when it's not working. Read More
The rapid success of Pokemon GO was one for the history books. Immediately following release, it not only became the dominant game on both iOS and Android, it was a sensation that seemingly everyone played. But, like almost every smartphone game, it lost most of its steam after a month or two. Read More
