Nokia 6 (2017) gets Android 9 Pie as HMD keeps its 2-year update promise

Devices running Android One are expected to receive software updates frequently and over an extended timeframe. Among them are Nokia's phones, which started to receive Pie back in September. The brand's update roadmap also confirmed all handsets released after 2017 would follow by the end of Q2. The two-year-old Nokia 6 was due to receive Android 9 Pie in March, but Juho Sarvikas, Chief Product Officer at HMD, tweeted the upgrade is rolling out a few weeks ahead of schedule.

Razer Phone 2 will get Android 9 Pie update starting next week

The Razer Phone 2 was released in October of last year, and if you enjoy playing games on the go, it's not a bad phone. However, it did ship with Android 8.1 Oreo, even though Pie was released two months prior. Razer has now announced that Android 9.0 will start rolling out to the phone next week.

Samsung promised it would start rolling out Pie updates in the US this month, and it's technically living up to that. However, only a few phones have gotten the new version so far, including Verizon and Sprint's Galaxy S9s. Today, AT&T becomes the first carrier to deploy a Note 9 Pie update. You'll have to find some WiFi to get started.

First US Galaxy S9 and S9+ Android 9 Pie updates rolling out to... Xfinity

After distributing its beta version to American S9 and S9+ devices at the end of November and updating international versions of the phone earlier this month, Samsung is now releasing Android 9 Pie and One UI to Comcast’s Xfinity S9s.
