Android 12 comes to the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5G in the US

And One UI 4.0 is coming along for the ride

Samsung used to be at the bottom of the barrel when it came to update support, but things have really turned around. Now, Samsung is often the first OEM to release updates after Google, and it's offering even longer update support. Yes, the phones of yesteryear are slowly but surely getting Android 12. Case in point: the Galaxy Z Flip 5G, which started receiving Android 12 internationally a few weeks back. Now, the OTA is rolling out in the US.

We might be facing the heat of July, but Samsung's June patch is still coming to a number of phones. Over the last two weeks, it's reached several devices in the US, including the Galaxy S21 and S10 series, the A10e, the A52, and more.

Samsung's Galaxy Z Flip 5G has just picked up a permanent price drop. When it launched last year as a slightly refreshed version of the original Z Flip, it came with a price bump to $1,450. But in the wake of the S21 series launch, Samsung cut its entry-level foldable's price down to "just" $1,200 in a permanent adjustment.

Samsung's software has come a hell of a long way over the years, becoming the only version of Android I consider worth using. The One UI 3 beta, based on Android 11, looks to improve things further in multiple areas across the board, but currently, it's only available on the S20 and Note20 range. However, that's about to change with the company announcing an upcoming beta program for the S10, Note10, Z Flip 5G, and Z Fold 2.
