VLC Player Coming To Android In "A Matter Of Weeks"

The incredibly popular VLC Player is finally coming to Android after months of hard work by the open source project developers. Originally a desktop media center for Linux, Windows, and Mac, this versatile player will bring many new video-playing features to our beloved OS including a wide variety of formats such as DivX and Dolby TrueHD. The lead developer in the project, Jean-Baptiste Kempf, has confirmed that it will hit the Android Market in "just a few weeks", which means that Android will be the first mobile platform to have a version of this software finally follow iOS and get its own port (thanks, Mikeyy).

Next Version Of HTC Sense UI To Feature Online Media Store, "Natural Interaction"

I'm no huge fan of UI overlays, but even I have to admit that HTC's Sense is getting better and better. With features like HTCSense.com and even an e-books store, there's no arguing that it's become more than just an Android skin - in Europe, at least.

It looks like the US is finally on the agenda for the new Sense. According to Drew Bamford, HTC's head of User Experience, the company will be rolling out a new version of the UI next year, which, among other things, will bring us Americans the features Desire HD and Desire Z owners have been enjoying for a while now.

The Ninjas Are Back To Slice The Wraps Off The Nexus S [Awesome Video... Kind Of]

Remember the ninja's unboxing video created for the Nexus One launch by Patrick Boivin? Created using the stop-motion animation technique, the video painted a story of 3 of the greatest ninjas in the world who happened to find a box. In this box - a Nexus One in dire need of unwrapping. Long story short - if you haven't seen the video, here it is, in all its creative goodness:

Video Shot By Samsung Nexus S Hits YouTube, Photos Hit Picasa

The Samsung Nexus S has already shown off its camera once, but up until now, we haven't seen what that 5MP shooter's capable of when it comes to video recording. Well the wait is over, as a (portrait) video shot by none other than the GT-i9020 has hit YouTube:

The quality is more or less what we've come to expect from 720p video taken by a cameraphone, though it certainly won't blow any minds.

Sony Ericsson's PlayStation Phone ZEUS Z1 Makes Surprisingly Clear Appearance On YouTube

Well, this one's a bit special, isn't it? In a marked shift from the traditional blurrycam espionage, what we have here is a nice, calmly filmed tour of the no-longer-mythical Zeus device. While there isn't a great deal of new information presented in the video, we do catch a glimpse of a  PlayStation icon in the menus. The software is labeled Gingerbread in the About screen, despite a distinctly Froyo-esque appearance.

Android Gingerbread UI Gets Exposed In The Crispest Video To Date

Wow, this went unnoticed for a while, didn't it? On November 23rd, Google's own GoogleinHK YouTube account posted a video walkthrough of the new Google Voice Search in Cantonese. With only 2100 views, this official Google-authored video did not grab anyone's attention, until someone noticed that it featured over a minute of the clearest Gingerbread user interface video we've seen to date. The greens, the blacks - it's all there. Have a look:

Update #2: the original video was pulled but luckily, I found another copy:

Update #3: another mirror, in case Google takes down our YouTube mirror.
