Ubisoft is launching its revamped subscription service on Stadia and Amazon Luna later this year

Last year, Ubisoft introduced a subscription service giving users access to current and future games from the studio. Google said at the time that the service, then called Uplay+, would be coming to Stadia in 2020. It's been a while since then, and Ubisoft has some big news, rebranding the subscription service and announcing that a beta is coming to Luna and then Stadia before the end of the year.

You can say what you want about Google Stadia – the company has the chance to disrupt the gaming industry and make video games more affordable for everyone. And the stars point towards a good launch as a surprisingly large number of AAA game developers jumped on the bandwagon and announced that they're supporting the platform. Now, Google has stated that it's also bringing Ubisoft's brand-new $14.99 subscription service Uplay+ to Stadia in 2020.

Project Stream is over, testers hold their breath for promised freebie

Google's Project Stream "test" is over. The experimental service, which streamed Assassin's Creed Odyssey to volunteers in a handful of US markets, was slated to end on January 15th. Participants who played for at least one hour should be getting a free PC copy of the game, plus a handful of helix credits, though they don't appear to have been distributed just yet.

If you didn't have a chance to finish Assassin's Creed Odyssey playing it on Google's Project Stream, Ubisoft has decided not to let a little thing like ownership interfere with your experience. Anyone who plays the game on Google's game streaming service for at least an hour between now and January 15th (the end of the test), will get a free PC copy via Ubisoft's Uplay service, plus 1,000 helix credits for all Project Stream participants.
