The Galaxy Note8 has been a highly anticipated smartphone for some time, largely because of the success and subsequent catastrophic failure of its predecessor. Now, reports out of South Korea are pointing towards an August 23rd announcement, meaning that we have less than two months until we get to lay eyes on Samsung's latest flagship. Read More
Mobile World Congress 2017 has only just started, but Samsung's already looking forward to bigger things. A teaser image that was sent out has revealed that a Galaxy device (pretty clearly the Galaxy S8) will be "unboxed" at 11am EST on March 29th, 2017 at Samsung's Unpacked event in New York City. Samsung has just sent out the invitation for its Note7 launch event in New York City on August 2nd. The sixth-generation Note device has been leaked extensively at this point, though I wouldn't be surprised if Samsung has managed to keep a piece or two of information from us about the device at this point. If you want to know what the Note7 will look like, we can show you, because Evan Blass leaked it - in excruciatingly high resolution. Read More
Phone manufacturers are having a harder and harder time getting our attention when it comes to drumming up interest for new releases. LG decided that cheeky marketing would be best when announcing cases and covers for phones that don't officially exist yet. In contrast, Samsung has decided to be just plain baffling. In the "Seven Days of Unboxing" promotion, Samsung lets someone see the new phone (which is almost certainly a Galaxy S7 and/or S7 Edge) for 30 seconds, after which they get to make an artist's interpretation for the audience. Samsung has had its own dedicated Unpacked events in recent years to talk about its new flagship phones, but this year it's doing the deed at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. Unpacked and the probable Galaxy S7 announcement is now official for Sunday, February 21st at 7PM local time (doors open an hour earlier). That works out to 1PM on the East Coast in the US for the start of the event. Read More
After rumors that Samsung may be turning the clock ahead on the Galaxy Note 5, the manufacturer has distributed invitations to an Unpacked event in New York City on August 13th.
Samsung says "The next Galaxy is coming," which presumably does refer to the flagship phablet (and potentially the Galaxy S6 Edge Plus). If we do see the Note 5, the event will mark a departure from Samsung's usual announcement venue at IFA in Berlin.
Whatever happens, we'll be there to get a look at what Samsung unpacks. For those who aren't at the event, it will be live-streamed on the SamsungMobile YouTube channel starting at 11am Eastern. Read More
If you were busy yesterday morning, or too hung over from Saturday night, you may have missed Samsung's Unpacked presentation from Barcelona, Spain. Sure, you could read about the Galaxy S6 and S6 Edge and their upcoming availability in the US, the revised Gear VR, and Samsung Pay... Or you could blow 40-some minutes watching the show in all its glossy grandeur. Did you really have anything better to do at work, today?
Ok, seriously, when you're done watching the show, check out those articles. We really do have a lot of information Samsung didn't cover during the event.

As winter slowly loosens its grip on the northern hemisphere, gadget nerds everywhere poke their noses above ground, looking to see if we'll soon have new hardware to drool over or six more weeks of relatively stale news. Easily the most anticipated springtime hardware announcement of the last few years has been Samsung's annual flagship refresh, and it looks like that will be coming on March 1st. The South Korean manufacturer has sent out invitations to its next "Unpacked" event at Mobile World Congress. Read More
While I don't exactly agree with the principle of teaser videos (say nothing, get free press), they are sometimes hard to ignore, especially when big name tech products are involved. Today's weirdly emotional ode to handwriting comes courtesy of Samsung, reminding you that on September 3rd they'll be Unpacking(TM) a new Galaxy Note.
The Note 3 features prominently in this spot, so the Note 4's appearance at the latest Unpacked event is all but a guarantee at this point. There's no mention of features, no talk of premium materials, and frankly, nothing remotely interesting whatsoever in this video. There's a piano and some violins and even a bass at some points, and there are some people writing things with feeling. Read More
We've heard rumor after rumor of Samsung's virtual reality headset in recent weeks, and according to the Verge the manufacturer is (as previous rumors suggested) set to unveil the device (codenamed Project Moonlight) at its upcoming Unpacked event in Berlin and New York, where Samsung is also expected to announce the Galaxy Note 4. What's more, the Verge has what appears to be a photo of the headset, next to a Samsung phone and Bluetooth controller.
The image seems to show a focus dial and ample lenses, as well as a front panel that would hold a phone, falling in line with previous rumors. Read More
