Google Pay adds support for more banks in Canada, UK, Italy, Spain, Ukraine, Poland, Australia, Brazil, and Russia

Here in the US, Google Pay is widely supported, and for that we're grateful. In international markets, support isn't always as easily found, but the list of partner banks is ever expanding. Over the past month, we've noticed that Google Pay has added support for a number of new banks for a handful of countries around the world, opening the door for even more consumers to enjoy the ease of using the payment platform to make in-store, in-app and online purchases.

YouTube Premium and Music Premium are now live in 7 new countries

YouTube's paid offerings are expanding to more and more countries. After an initial launch in the US in June, they have now reached over 25 nations worldwide and don't seem to be slowing down.

The latest additions are seven new countries spread across several continents:

  • Chile
  • Colombia
  • Japan
  • Peru
  • Portugal
  • Switzerland
  • Ukraine

To get started, go to youtube.com/premium and sign up. YouTube Music offers music streaming without the videos, and it's free with ads and no offline downloads. If you want ad-free access and offline streaming, you can get Music Premium. The more all-encompassing YouTube Premium gives you the same benefits as Music Premium plus an ad-free experience across all of YouTube's videos and access to exclusive content.

Android Pay launches in Ukraine, its 15th market, with support for PrivatBank

Android Pay has been around for a few years now, but it's still not available in very many countries. Case in point: it's just made its way to Ukraine, which has become only the 15th country that it's usable in. It's only available at one bank, at least for now: PrivatBank.

Ukrainian Retailer Publishes Product Page For Unreleased Lenovo Yoga Tablet 3, Listed Specs Are Surprisingly Low-End

When we reported on leaked images of Lenovo's upcoming Yoga Tablet 3, I said at the time that the big lingering question was what is on the inside. The current generation, the Yoga Tablet 2, is very much a mid-range device in both specs and price. The specs posted on an inadvertently published product page for the Lenovo Yoga Tablet 3 8" version suggest a step down into the budget market.

There are two listings at Rozetka, the Ukrainian retailer who apparently pulled the trigger too soon on marketing the new tablets. They are both 8" versions, one with LTE and one without.

Google Play Newsstand Paid Content Now Available In The Philippines, Poland, Taiwan, And Ukraine

Newsstand is probably the least sought-after of Google's various media offerings in the Play Store, if only because most of the content found in those newspapers and magazines is available elsewhere. Even so, Google seems to be standing by it. Today four new territories have access to the paid issues and subscriptions in Newsstand: the Philippines, Poland, Taiwan, and Ukraine. Readers from those countries, head to the Play Store on the web or your phone or tablet to check it out.

As usual, the change was posted in an update to the official Google Play availability chart. Free content on Newsstand is available everywhere, but so far only 22 countries have access to paid content.

Play Movies Is Now Ready To Stream Motion Pictures In Hungary, Macedonia, Ukraine, And 6 More Countries

Play Movies is hardly a one-stop-shop for all of your video consuming needs on a mobile device, but that doesn't mean it's not a convenient option to have around. People throughout nine countries predominantly concentrated in Europe can now choose to turn to Google to rent or purchase certain films. The service has expanded to new countries, many of which also recently received Play Music.

If you click on the red Play Movies icon on an Android device in Macedonia, what you will see should look something like this.

Play Books Starts To Go Live For Readers In Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, And Ukraine

Google Play is filled with content, but the digital goods are available on a country by country basis. Today we've seen Google add four more to the list of nations with Play Books availability. They are Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, and Ukraine.

Play Books appears to still be in the process of rolling out, because as you can see in the screenshot for Ukraine below, the banner announcing availability has appeared, but the section hasn't yet shown up in the sidebar. Clicking on the banner tosses up a message saying that Play Books is not yet available.

Regardless, it's only now a matter of time before more European readers are able to tap into Google's platform for consuming, uploading, and syncing books across multiple devices.
