UE's smallest speaker, the ROLL, is 50 percent off right now at Best Buy and Amazon, dropping the price to $50. It packs impressive sound for its diminutive size and boasts 9 hours of battery life, a 65 foot Bluetooth Range, and an IPX7 rated waterproof body. Plus it has a marine-grade bungee cord attached to it that you can use to strap it to things. Gotta love a bungee cord.
Only the red and purple color options are available to ship at Best Buy, though more colors may be available for pickup at your local store. Read More
Most of you who pay much attention to the bluetooth speaker market know that Ultimate Ears, a.k.a UE, makes good stuff. While the UE Boom and related Boom variants are pretty well-known, the Roll is a nice, albeit quirkier member of the product line. What sets it apart, other than the smaller size, is that it is also waterproof and designed to be strapped onto whatever you want to. If the sticker price of $100 was too steep for you, then give it another look while it's discounted to $49.99 at Best Buy.

The UE Roll may be the most diminutive member of UE's proud Bluetooth speaker family, but it's also the most portable. Weighing in at just 11 oz, the Roll punches above its weight class with surprisingly loud and clear audio for such a low profile device.
In addition to sounding great, the Roll also is waterproof and has a permanently attached marine grade bungee cord that you can use to hang the speaker on things. Things like your backpack, skateboard, dog, or the side of your head (if you buy two, you can put one on each side of your head for true stereo sound). Read More
Ultimate Ears makes some of the best Bluetooth speakers on the market today, but what's almost as notable is the company's consistent updates. The BOOM speakers are already some of the most feature-rich when combined with the app(s), and today they're getting even better with a new feature called "Block Party Mode."
Basically, this allows up to three devices to connect to the speaker at the same time and take turns playing music. Everything is controlled by the "host" (the person who started the Block Party), which allows them to play/pause music on any of the connected devices, as well as change the volume of the speaker and boot users who don't want to play nicely. It's no secret that I love Ultimate Ears' Bluetooth speakers - the BOOM was my absolute favorite speaker for nearly two years. Then the MEGABOOM came out, and UE once again impressed the hell out of me with the amazing sound it can get out of such a portable package. Today, the company announced the smallest in what I still think can be classified as the "BOOM Family" - the UE ROLL. (OK, it doesn't necessarily have BOOM in the name, but c'mon - it's clearly part of the family.)
The ROLL is made to take the place of the UE Mini BOOM, which was the smallest member of the family. Read More
As far as I'm concerned, Ultimate Ears is the best name in portable wireless speakers right now - the BOOM and MEGABOOM are my personal picks for best all-around Bluetooth speakers on the market. The Mini BOOM had its time, as well, and it was very good for its pint size. Today, however, Ultimate Ears has unveiled the Mini's successor, the UE ROLL. I'll admit that I'm not the biggest fan of the name, but it is fitting - it looks like a dinner roll. I have no idea if that's actually what they were going for, but whatever. That's what I'm taking it as. Read More
