LG has finally revealed its next flagship phone: The G7 ThinQ. Although we have a good idea of the specs and capabilities packed inside LG's latest flagship—including its AI-powered camera and "Super Bright" screen—some unresolved particulars still remain. LG G Flex 2 Begins Global Roll Out In The US, UK, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, and Germany, With A New Product Story Video

After its introduction at CES, the curvtastic LG G Flex 2 is almost ready for primetime. The phone has been available for pre-order on Sprint in the US for a few days with a free Quick Circle case, but its global rollout is about to commence. It will first be offered on "major carriers in the United States, Hong Kong, Singapore, France, Germany, and the U.K," according to an LG Press Release, followed by key markets in North and South America, Europe, and Asia.

Aside from Sprint in the US, we know that AT&T will carry the G Flex 2 (only in grey, red is exclusive to Sprint) but their landing page still marks it as Coming Soon, and that U.S.

Sprint Lights Up Six New LTE Markets, Including Indianapolis, Santa Rosa, And Hanover, PA

You know the drill by now. It's time for some new LTE market announcements! Woo! Party hard. The network rollouts today are coming to Pennsylvania, California, Indiana, Virginia and Puerto Rico. This comes on the heels of Sprint announcing its intention to purchase the remaining shares of Clearwire that it didn't already own.

Here's the list of new cities:

  • Indianapolis/Carmel, Ind.
  • Santa Rosa/Petaluma, Calif.
  • Vallejo/Fairfield, Calif.
  • Southern Puerto Rico (including Ponce, Coamo and Guayama)
  • York/Hanover, Pa.
  • Franklin County, Pa.
  • Page County, Va.
  • Enhanced 4G LTE coverage around Shenandoah County, Va.

Not a bad set of additions. There is still much to be seen in regards to Sprint's LTE network rollout, particularly over the next year.

Motorola Adds Electrify M To Bootloader Unlock Program - No Developer Edition Required

Following the ATRIX HD, the recently announced Electrify M destined for U.S. Cellular is Motorola's newest member of the bootloader unlock program. The Electrify M is basically the RAZR M with minor visual tweaks but, unlike its Verizon sibling, won't come in a separate, more expensive developer-friendly flavor. Instead, like the Photon Q on Sprint and the RAZR i/HD outside of U.S., it's unlockable out of the box.

An unlocked bootloader means Electrify M owners will have full blessing of US Cellular and Motorola to customize software on their devices and flash custom ROMs, in exchange for losing the warranty, of course (in case there is any confusion, Motorola specifies: "Once you get the unlock code, your device is no longer covered by the Motorola warranty; in other words, please don't blame us if things go wrong, even if they appear unrelated to unlocking the bootloader.").

Samsung Galaxy S Aviator Now Available For $199 With Two-Year Agreement As U.S. Cellular's First LTE Smartphone

Back in February, U.S. Cellular announced its LTE network, along with the Samsung Galaxy S Aviator as its first LTE smartphone. The Aviator is officially available today for $199.99 after $100 mail-in-rebate and the signing of a two-year agreement. If you happen to be in one of U.S. Cellular's LTE coverage areas, however, you can snag this device for $99 after a $100 mail-in-rebate for a limited time.

2012-04-05 10h12_48

While the Aviator may be the flagship device of U.S. Cellular's LTE network, it's specs are that of a modern mid-range device (realistically, it's basically just a rebranded Droid Charge):

  • 4.3-inch display
  • 1GHz Hummingbird processor
  • 1GB RAM
  • 8MP rear shooter
  • 1.3 front-facing camera
  • Android 2.3 with Touchwiz

So there you have it - if you've been waiting for U.S Cellular to launch its first LTE device, your wait has ended.

Samsung Acclaim Coming To US Cellular - Watching Paint Dry Is More Exciting

Good news for US Cellular customers – looks like you’re getting your first Android phone. The bad news, however, is that it is one hell of a lame Android phone – why US Cellular would choose this phone to make an entrance with is beyond me.

The Samsung SCH-r880 Acclaim comes packing some pretty low-end specs:

  • 3.2” Screen (resolution not specified, which can’t be good)
  • 3.0 MP Camera (to be fair, it has an LED flash)
  • 4 GB microSD card (supports up to 32GB)
  • WiFi & Bluetooth

I’m not sure what versions of WiFi and Bluetooth it comes with (if you really want to know, you can go through the FCC filings here).
