In early 2022, Konami finally brought over a true digital Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game (TCG), Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel to multiple platforms, including Android and iOS. It's not the first time, Yu-Gi-Oh! has arrived on mobile platforms. But none have shared the traditional (official TCG) ruleset. But a game staying true to one of the most popular TCGs in the world is enough reason to consider Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel as one of the best Android games to come out recently.

Last July, Konami announced its plans to bring the full Yu-Gi-Oh! trading card game to just about every gaming platform in existence, including mobile. This digital interpretation of the physical card game is known as Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel, and the game landed on consoles and PC two weeks ago. Of course, mobile was the odd man out (when isn't this the case), and even though a few select territories saw the mobile release last week, today is the official mobile launch, which means Yu-Gi-Oh! Master Duel is finally available on Android and iOS as a free-to-play release.

Pokémon's got a new way to eat up all your free time on Android

The Pokémon Company has announced that it's officially bringing the Pokémon Trading Card Game to Android, iOS, Windows, and macOS sometime soon. This digital adaptation of the popular physical trading card game will be free-to-play, and it will go by the name Pokémon Trading Card Game Live, not to be confused with the pre-existing Android game Pokémon TCG Online, which only runs on tablets. Pokémon Trading Card Game Live is expected to enter testing in Canada on mobile devices sometime soon, with a global launch on Windows and macOS later in the year.

Konami already offers a Yu-Gi-Oh! card game on mobile called Yu-Gi-Oh! Duel Links. This game does not provide the full-fledged TCG (trading card game) experience of the original physical card game, but instead, it offers a cut-down version for faster play. Well, fans have been clamoring for something a lot closer to the original TCG, and it would appear Konami has been listing. In a fresh release announcement, Konami reveals that this long-awaited digital TCG is called Yu-Gi-Oh!: Master Duel, and it plans to bring the game to just about every platform you can think of, including mobile.

Psst. Hey, Pokémon fans. I know you're all very busy obsessing over Pokémon Sun and Moon, the new entries in the main game series, after the starters were revealed this morning. But those games are still months away, and you need something to fill the Pokémon-shaped hole in your soul until then. Well I have good news, Poke-faithful: the official online digital version of the Pokémon Trading Card Game is now out of beta and available as a regular old vanilla download on Android tablets. Have at it.

If you're around the same age as me, you fondly remember playing the Pokemon Trading Card Game (TCG for short) for hours in middle school. Or more accurately, you remember watching all the other kids play it because your parents couldn't afford to buy 10,000 licensed pieces of cardboard just so you could get a shiny Blastoise. (It's OK, I played the Game Boy Color version for vicarious thrills.) As it turns out, the Pokemon card game is still rolling along with a huge following, and now there's even an online digital version. Yes, that's a video game based on a card game based on a video game - try to keep up.
