Tetris gets three new modes, including a daily tournament with cash prizes

This past January, N3TWORK Inc. released a new version of Tetris for mobile, and it was well-received, thanks to competent monetization, smooth controls, and a few welcome skins. Well, as of today, Tetris has received a monumental update. First and foremost, there's a new competitive tournament mode called Tetris Primetime, which works a lot like HQ Trivia, in that you can actually win money by playing in this nightly live tournament. But that's not all, because two more modes are included in today's update, Tetris Together (a family mode) and Tetris Royale (a battle royale mode similar to Tetris 99).

EA ending support for its Tetris games in April

Almost a decade ago (!) in 2011, EA released Tetris for mobile devices, following it with Tetris Blitz in 2013. Being the only way to play "official" Tetris on your phone, the two apps have been extremely popular for fans of the classic brick-stacker game. Unfortunately, EA is ending its run with Tetris and will be abandoning the games in April.

Tetris Royale will bring 100-player online battles to Android

N3TWORK has partnered with The Tetris Company to exclusively develop and publish new Tetris games for mobile, and the first game that will reach Android is called Tetris Royale. Much like the Nintendo Switch game Tetris 99, 100-player matches will be the focus of Tetris Royale so that mobile players can put their falling-block skills to the test to battle their way up the leaderboards each season.
