The Android tablet ecosystem isn't nearly as vibrant as Apple's, but that hasn't stopped companies like Samsung from trying to make it work for them. The South Korean giant has honed the tablet experience (within Android's limitations), and now you can reap the rewards. When we reviewed the device last year, one of our biggest gripes was the inflated price tag, a barrier that's ultimately eliminated by today's discount. However, keep in mind that each color and storage option for the Tab S4 results in variable savings; if you want the cheapest model, you'll have to reach for the Tab S4 with 64GB in black.
Most Android tablets on the market are either average at best or overpriced. Although the Galaxy Tab S4 might be one of the top contenders around, its initial MSRP was relatively steep, at $650 for the 64GB variant or $750 for the 128GB version. However, thanks to a deal on Amazon, you can save $152 on both versions, making the tablet a much more interesting bargain. Both storage options are on sale, down to $498 and $598, which is among the lowest prices they've been.

- According to Verizon's update site, their LTE version of the Tab S4 is now receiving Pie as well. However, the Verizon update comes with the April security patch, which is a bit odd given that the Wi-Fi model is only getting the March patch. Verizon Tab S4 owners, keep an eye out.

ARCore's list of supported devices was just updated earlier this month, but with the introductions of so many new Android devices, a second revision for the month of August was required. Samsung's latest and greatest, the Galaxy Note9 and Galaxy Tab S4, are present, as are all three members of the Xperia XZ2 line and the Nokia 6.1 Plus.
For those of us who like to change our wallpapers up often, it's always interesting to see what's included on the latest and greatest phones. The Galaxy Note9 and Tab S4 were both released recently, and we already have all 22 wallpapers from the duo available for your perusal and download.
Samsung announced the Galaxy Tab S4 this morning, a new 10.5" Android-powered tablet that seeks, first and foremost, to be seen as a laptop replacement (at a cost of another $150 for the keyboard dock). With the company's DeX UI first introduced via its desktop accessory for Galaxy smartphones last year, the Tab S4 can be used in a traditional, windowed operating system layout for productivity. This would seem to squarely aim the Tab S4 to do battle with the array of Chromebook tablets and detachables likely to hit the market in the next year.
Every month or so, an update to ARCore rolls out to add the augmented reality framework to a whole new set of phones, tablets... and now Chromebooks? Yes, the first Chrome OS device has been found among the list of profiles included in the ARCore APK, and that is the recently released Acer Chromebook Tab 10. Also joining the list are the codenames associated with the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, blueline and crosshatch, which are due out this Fall.
Samsung first introduced its DeX line of docks alongside the Galaxy S8, angling it as a simpler way of getting work done while on the go without having to lug a laptop or desktop around. However, multiple independent sources have confirmed that the upcoming Note9 and Tab S4 will be able to use the DeX desktop experience without the need for a DeX dock.
It doesn't seem like that much time has passed, but the Galaxy Tab S3 officially debuted almost one-and-a-half years ago. In other words, it's overdue for a replacement. We'd heard about the Tab S4 passing through the Wi-Fi Alliance and the FCC, but hadn't seen it in photos - that is, until now.
The Galaxy Note and Tab S lines are both due for a refresh soon. The Note8 is almost a year old, and the Tab S3 is almost a year and a half. Luckily, the successors to those have just passed through the FCC, indicating that they're probably coming soon.
