Carriers use all sorts of promotions to entice subscribers their way, and for the past four years now T-Mobile has been been handing out weekly freebies as part of its T-Mobile Tuesdays program. We've even seen other carriers try to spin up their own versions of the deal, to mixed success. But now that T-Mobile and Sprint are one, what does that spell for access to T-Mobile Tuesdays giveaways? After confirming plans to extend the offer to Sprint users earlier this year, T-Mobile is finally flipping the switch, welcoming Sprint subscribers who can grab their first deals next Tuesday.
Dish has been toying with the idea of becoming a proper carrier amid the merger of the century between T-Mobile and Sprint for quite a while. There were even some rumors that Google was on board with the satellite TV-provider, but they have since been denied by the search company. Bloomberg reports that Dish has agreed to buy wireless spectrum and prepaid businesses such as Boost Mobile from T-Mobile and Sprint as the Department of Justice closes in on approving the carrier merger.
Gather your grains of salt, but the Wall Street Journal is reporting that Sprint is considering making a buyout offer for T-Mobile come the first half of 2014, to the tune of $20 billion. While that probably sounds good on paper, it's not nearly as much AT&T offered back in 2011, at a whopping $39 billion - making Sprint's bid half of what AT&T thought T-Mobile was worth 2 years ago.
But don't write this off as fantasy just yet, as even John Legere, the Un-CEO, is on the record as saying he's open to deals, including with Sprint.
