The Witcher: Monster Slayer was announced back in August 2020, a free-to-play augmented reality collection game à la Pokémon GO. While we've heard little about the title, it did enter into early access sometime after April. Well, as of today, the game is finally available on the Play Store for pre-registration in preparation for its newly-announced release date, July 21st. That's right, The Witcher: Monster Slayer will be officially released later this month, which means fans don't have much longer to wait.

Who's ready for yet another Pokémon GO clone?

It would appear the CD Projekt Red subsidiary Spokko has been working on a Witcher mobile game. This game is called The Witcher: Monster Slayer, and it's a free-to-play augmented reality RPG, which means it's the latest Pokémon GO clone slated for a mobile release. Of course, Spokko has yet to provide a release date, though the studio has hinted that more details will come to light later this year.

CD PROJEKT RED is expanding. The studio best known for The Witcher series of RPGs now owns the majority stake in Spokko, a new Polish gaming studio brand co-created by Maciej Weiss and Rafał Staszewski. Spokko will remain largely independent of CD PROJEKT by retaining its creative autonomy thanks to sharing a similar philosophy of operation with CD PROJEKT, though it does seem clear both studios are teaming up on a new idea based on one of CD PROJEKT's brands.
