We may be officially past Amazon Prime Day, but that's not stopping some retailers from dropping late deals that deserve a look. We saw some pretty great Prime Day smart home deals this year, but one of the best yet just dropped to keep the party going. Ecobee offers one of the best smart thermostats on the market right now, but with a standard price tag of $250, it's one of the most expensive options you can go with, aside from the Google Nest Learning Thermostat. However, Ecobee skipped Prime Day altogether and just dropped their Premium smart thermostat down to its best price ever, taking $40 off this top-of-the-line option for a limited time.

When it comes to controlling the temperature of your home, an analog thermostat can only do so much, and offers even fewer features in terms of monitoring anything while away from home. Many great smart thermostats are on the market and have several advantages over traditional options. For example, they include remote controllability, zone temperature control, and the ability to "learn" the users' habits to schedule accordingly. Some can even remind you when to change your air filter or stream music. However, voice assistant compatibility is one stand-out feature that may make controlling your home's environment easier.

Savant Systems is celebrating its first anniversary since revamping the entirety of General Electric's old lighting division from C by GE to Cync. At CES 2022, it's unveiling a whole line of smart home products to last through the winter (barring any supply chain surprises du jour) including an outdoor camera, home climate control solutions, and some lights, too — Savant decided to keep the GE Lighting name, after all.

Amazon's Smart Thermostat wants to power your home's heating and cooling for $70 less than Nest

Remote temperature control and Alexa support at an unbeatable price

There are plenty of gadgets that first spring to mind when you think about a "smart home." Light bulbs, cameras, maybe even automatic locks on your front door — a lot goes into upgrading your home, but for many of us, it started with our first smart thermostat. Controlling the climate of your house while away is a great way to save some cash, but the barrier to entry has always been pretty high. With Amazon's latest gadget, it's cheaper than ever to upgrade your heating and cooling system. For just $60, the Amazon Smart Thermostat is one of the most affordable smart thermostats on the market — even Wyze's entry into this field isn't priced this low. It was built in partnership with Resideo, the company behind Honeywell thermostats, but its design is more in line with the utilitarian approach you'd expect from Amazon. With a basic white plastic shell and glowing white LEDs, it's not the most beautiful piece of hardware we've ever seen — then again, it's just a thermostat.

It's been only four months since the proudly independent Texas power grid failed under a cold snap, and now it's in danger of a similar fate during the current heat wave. The Electric Reliability Council of Texas, sterling public servants that they are, have asked Texans to raise their thermostats to 78 during the hottest part of the day. And for some, they're not asking.

Jump on this great Nest Thermostat deal before it's too late

A new low for Nest's most affordable thermostat

Nest got its start bringing smart thermostats to the masses, and last year's model went back to basics for its cheapest device yet. As long as you're okay with the switch to plastic and the lack of a rotating ring, Nest's newest gadget is a great way to upgrade to sync your house's temperature with Google Home. Its usual price is already a bargain, but several retailers have it marked down to just $99 today, a deal that you'll want to grab before it's too late.If you don't remember, Nest's entry-level thermostat makes a few changes from its more high-end devices to lower the price. If you can deal with the plastic body and a mirrored finish overlaying the display, there's a lot to love about this gadget — especially if it's your first dive into the world of smart heating and cooling. Just don't expect fancy add-ons like extra temperature sensors and multistage heaters. For that kind of premium experience, you'll have to jump up to a much higher price point.

Wyze just launched a $50 smart thermostat, undercutting virtually all of its competitors

The best features aren't coming until 2021, though

Wyze only recently announced its first pair of over-ear headphones and a video doorbell, and the company is continuing its foray into new product categories. It has just unveiled the Wyze Thermostat, a $50 smart thermostat that can be automated via the Wyze app and controlled with voice assistants. It's available for pre-order and will ship in December.

In many ways, the original Nest Thermostat that launched in 2011 kicked off the race to build an ideal smart home. Eight years later, the competition is still trying to emulate Nest's success, but why buy a copycat product when you can own the real thing for an ultra-affordable price? Today you can pick up the Nest Thermostat E with Nest Mini bundle for 9 ( off), or less than the retail price of the Nest Thermostat E by itself.

The holidays are almost here, which means you're probably going to spend a lot of time preparing food over a hot stove while friends and family gather in the other room. Among the cooking and commotion, your conventional thermostat can easily become confused, failing to heat some portions of your home while the main areas encroach on sauna-like temperatures. To keep you and your guests comfortable this season, consider picking up a new ecobee SmartThermostat with SmartSensor, now only 9 ( off) on Amazon. The ecobee SmartThermostat featured in this deal comes with a touchscreen, dual-band Wi-Fi, and a quad-core processor. Alexa and Google Home support mean that if you'd rather not control your thermostat through the app or via the integrated display, you can always tell it what to do with your voice. This deal also includes one SmartSensor that can measure the temperature in a room beyond your thermostat's reach.

Smart thermostats offer plenty of energy-saving benefits by letting you schedule different modes, turn them off when you leave home, and optimize temperature based on occupancy. Ecobee is now taking these smarts further with its new eco+ mode.

Ecobee thermostats come highly recommended here at Android Police, with the Ecobee4 earning the top thermostat ranking in our list of the best smart home devices. Things only got better with the introduction of the company's SmartThermostat, which improved on the Ecobee4 by updating the processor, improving sound quality, and the addition of 5GHz Wifi compatibility. In an exciting smart home-focused deal that is available from Best Buy for one day only, buyers will receive a free Ecobee Switch+ with the purchase of either the SmartThermostat or Ecobee3 Lite.

The third-generation Nest Thermostat has been out for several years now, but as the old saying goes, don't fix what ain't broke. This smart thermostat is still among the best of the best, and it's currently being bundled with a Home Mini and two temperature sensors for just 0.15 — a not-insignificant $102 off current prices elsewhere.

Nest is the leader of the smart thermostat pack, and for good reason: its units work well, and they're easy on the eyes without being unrecognizable as thermostats. If you're interested in picking one up and you've got a Costco membership, you're in luck: you can save about 40 bucks.

Nest was the first smart thermostat company to hit the streets, and it's still the best in the biz. Its most recent offering in its Learning Thermostat collection, the third-generation model, is currently available from Rakuten via Altatac for 2.51 with a coupon code. This is even lower than Black Friday pricing.
