Pocket Celebrates Its Name's One Year Anniversary With 'Send To Friend' And More In Version 4.5

Pocket, in an update to celebrate the one year anniversary of Read It Later's rebrand, has introduced (among other things) Send to Friend, a new feature that allows for quick, easy sharing of content with friends. Users can accept shared content directly from the Pocket app, using the app's new Inbox. Those sharing can also highlight quotes or add their own comments before sharing, sending them along for friends to read.

Sony Launches Cinemagram Competitor Motiongraph – Quickly, Easily Create Creepily Awesome Animated Photos

Sony Digital Network Applications (Sony DNA) today announced Motiongraph – an app that aims to make the creation of cinemagraphs fast and easy for Android users. A cinemagraph, for those who don't know, is a still image with one or two minor elements animated (you can see some great examples here). They're a fascinating medium that can only be achieved digitally, and which have an eerie yet fascinating aesthetic.

Sony's app looks to give users more consistent and controlled results with a simple "rubbing" interface in which areas to be animated are identified by simply highlighting them with your finger.

Tip: Drive's Latest Update Adds Global 'Copy To Clipboard' Option In The Share Menu

When Google Drive was updated yesterday with the new native spreadsheet editor, all other aspects of the update were instantly less interesting. Now that the dust has settled and our excitement for the new editor has become more manageable, there's another nifty feature worth highlighting: the new "copy to clipboard" choice in the global share menu.

Now, when you choose to share something via the built-in option in any application, you will see an option for "copy to clipboard" - it was actually a little confusing where this new addition came from initially, but Ron notices every detail that exists in everything and immediately knew it was thanks to the Drive update.
