The Samsung Galaxy J3 2017 unceremoniously arrives at AT&T for $179.99

Last year's Samsung Galaxy J3 was a decent little budget phone. It had a 5" 720x1280 Super AMOLED display, an Exynos 3475 processor, and 1.5GB of RAM. Now the J3's successor, named the Galaxy J3 2017 (nice branding), has appeared for sale at AT&T with seemingly no formal announcement or fanfare.

TWRP now available for Xperia XZ, Xperia X Performance, and Galaxy J3

TWRP now available for Xperia XZ, Xperia X Performance, and Galaxy J3

TWRP is by far the most popular custom recovery, and for good reason. Backing up your device, flashing ROMs, managing files in a pinch, and more are all possible through a customizable GUI. Samsung's Galaxy J3 Is Live On AT&T, Packs A 1.3GHz Quad-Core Processor And 720p 5-Inch Screen

This phone isn't low-end. Not really. When I think low-end, I think 1GHz Snapdragon processor, 512MB RAM and 1GB of storage; something like the HTC Wildfire. Despite this, the J3 is available on a prepaid contract of $5.67/month, or for $169 upfront. For a phone of this quality - 720p Super AMOLED display, 1.3GHz quad core processor, 1.5GB RAM, 2600mAh battery, 16GB expandable memory, and 4G LTE - that seems astoundingly cheap.
