Samsung's email client, if you go by the user reviews on the Play Store, is pretty wonderful. That's not too shabby considering it is one of many apps that Samsung preloads into almost all of its devices that you can't uninstall. Regardless, the app has achieved an exclusive Play Store milestone: Samsung Email now has more than one billion installs.

If you own a Samsung phone, you may have been confused by an email Google sent out today regarding the Samsung Email app. Users were told that the app, submitted by an "unverified developer," was granted access to their Google account and was authorized to "read, compose, send, and permanently delete" any message within their Gmail account. The good news is that Samsung is aware of the issue: it is advising its customers to not act on the alert.

Samsung has slimmed down the number of its apps in recent devices, but there are still a couple that come preinstalled. Its email app, appropriately named Samsung Email, is one of those. Samsung Email has just passed 100 million downloads, which is nothing short of a tremendous number.
