Google Maps received an update yesterday, making it a lot more friendly for users who rely on public transport to get from A to B by adding departure times for railway stations, among other new features.

Remember the sudden 4.03.605.1 OTA update that unexpectedly hit some HTC Rezound devices earlier this week and brought global roaming with it? And the 4.03.605.2 full RUU that we followed up with shortly after? We've just gotten a hold of the full low-level Verizon changelog for these releases (the .2 one to be exact), so here's what's different compared to that final ICS OTA from only a few weeks ago (remember, half of the changelogs' value comes from knowing what to not expect):

Verizon is possibly pushing out an over-the-air update v4.03.605.1 to the HTC Rezound which only just received ICS (v3.14.605.12) last week. The 104MB update is pretty hefty for only a few weeks of work, which has puzzled many XDA members and made things turn pretty ugly in the relevant thread. The reason I'm saying "possibly" is only one person at XDA has received it so far, which may indicate there's some sort of soak testing going on.

The HTC Rezound ICS update finally started rolling out today, and what do you know - it looks like the same version 3.14.605.12 that we've been holding onto for a few weeks. Since the OTA version matches the RUU we have, we're releasing it for those who don't necessarily feel like waiting for the staggered update or want an ability to restore back to full stock, or simply want to roll their own custom ROM.

After countless leaks, a rumor of questionable origin, and a missed target release timeline of June-July, it looks like Verizon has opened the flood gates, and the HTC Rezound ICS update has started rolling out to the first batch of users, just a few days late.

[Rumor] HTC Rezound May Be Getting Its ICS Upgrade As Early As July 29th

HTC Rezound owners may have a reason to get excited in the very, very near future. According to a leaked document, the Rezound may be seeing an update to Ice Cream Sandwich starting as soon as tomorrow, July 29th. The document says the OTA update should be about 292MB, so be sure to have your WiFi handy before you download.

Back in mid-March, we gave Rezound owners their first taste of Ice Cream Sandwich. Now, we've gotten our hands on a newer build (3.13.605.7, Android 4.0.3) that should fix several of the quirks that were present in our previous leak, as well as bring new radios to the table. I can actually feel the anticipation here, so let's get to it.

Over the past year or so, HTC devices have become notoriously more difficult to root/mod/S-Off than the devices of yesteryear. When one series of devices gets cracked, the next generation released by HTC has historically been drastically more difficult to crack.

Last week, we got word from a Best Buy tipster that ICS updates would be rolling out to the Droid RAZR/MAXX on April 4th and the HTC Rezound on April 6th. If you've checked the calendar lately, then you're probably aware that today is April 5th - one day later than ICS was supposed to hit the RAZR Twins. Still, that OTA is nowhere in sight (soak test details for the RAZRs did surface yesterday, but it wasn't ICS).

Looks like Rezound a RAZR/Maxx owners could be seeing Ice Cream Sandwich as early as next week, if this leaked document from Best Buy that just landed in our inbox is to be believed.

Ice Cream Sandwich. It's more than a buzzword in the Android community right now - it's what most users are waiting for in one way or another. Some are waiting on the update to roll out to their device, while others are still waiting to find out if their device will even get the update. For HTC Rezound users, however, the wait ends today - as long as they're willing to flash a leaked firmware, that is.

Last week, HTC detailed the Android 4.0 update for several handsets, but many U.S. models were noticeable absent form the list. Today, the Taiwanese manufacturer has taken to its Facebook page to highlight some of the North American handsets that will see the update, most of which are on Verizon. It's a shorty, but goodie:

A software update for the HTC Rezound is coming soon, according to Verizon's support page for the device. Hoping it's the update Rezound owners have been waiting for - you know, the one to ICS? Sorry to burst your bubble, but there's nothing to it but minor bugfixes and changes. But hey, you can't complain about them fixing things in the interim, can you? The update bumps things up to version number 2.01.605.11 and baseband 0.95.00.1118r.

You made your nominations, and you voted. Now we have a winner. The Andy for Best Non-Nexus Android Phone of 2011 goes to...

HTCDev.com has been unlocking the bootloaders of select HTC smartphones for some time now, but up until today, the Rezound was not among their ranks.

HTC's UK Facebook page was updated last night with information regarding just which HTC handsets would be in the "first wave" of phones to receive an update to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich in early 2012. While the post was made on HTC's UK Facebook, the list contains a number of US-only devices. Those handsets are asterisked to indicate US-only availability (the Rezound, EVO Design, and Amaze). The others on the list include the Sensation (plus XL and XE versions), the Vivid, and the EVO 3D. Those phones are not asterisked, indicating the ICS update will be making its way to the European versions of those phones around the same time frame as well.

We've been hearing information about the HTC Rezound (codenamed Vigor) for quite a while now, and HTC just officially took the wraps off of this beasty. Like most other new HTC devices, it's packed with Beats by Dre, and, similar to the Sensation XE, has those wicked red capacitive buttons. It's quite impressive in terms of hardware spec:
