Google Photos v4.1 prepares live albums, mixing together of albums and shared libraries [APK Teardown]

Google Photos is fairly fresh off of its Material Theme update, but the latest version doesn't appear to have any significant changes on the surface to add to the new look. But that's not where the interesting things are on this update, we're looking into the APK to find details of what is coming in the future. The big addition will be an enhanced album that uses facial recognition to fill itself with pictures of your family and friends. Photos will also begin directing people to install a RAW editor if they're taking photos in that mode.

Google Camera v5.3 prepares RAW support (again), corrections for wide-angle distortion, and possibly multi-channel audio [APK Teardown]

Android P Developer Preview 4 is out, or Beta 3 as Google refers to it. With it comes the usual slurry of small app updates, some of which have little or no change while others come bearing some interesting fruit. The latest Google Camera update doesn't seem to include any live changes, but it does have hints of many new features to come, including the much-anticipated RAW support, a way to fix faces that were distorted by the wide-angle lens of your camera, an automatic framerate setting, and even a "shiny new feature" that might enable surround sound audio recordings.

Photo management is a tricky subject because everybody wants to tackle it a little bit differently. Google Photos v2.4 adds in-album detection to people pages, dynamic filters and enhanced editing controls, and RAW support [APK Download + Teardown]

Google Photos is progressively building out its feature set. Version 2.4 began rolling out last week and it can now show which albums certain people appear in. This follows the addition of some newly enhanced editing controls and dynamic filters added with version 2.3 a couple of weeks ago, which will also be discussed in this post. All of this can be topped with with a couple of interesting hints at future additions found during a teardown, including initial support for RAW images.

Snapseed v2.5 Shows Evidence Of White Balance Presets And Neutral Color Picker For The RAW Editor [APK Teardown]

Recent updates to both the Photos and Camera apps have included some really interesting clues, suggesting Google may be planning to put a lot of effort into upping its game with smartphone photographers. The latest update to Snapseed was no different; not only did it bring a few worthwhile new features, but some resources inside the apk also betray plans for the future. Snapseed will be adding enhanced controls for working with white balance in RAW mode and there's an effects randomizer coming to the editor.

Snapseed Updated To v2.1 With Support For RAW Photo Editing [APK Download]

A number of Android phones can capture RAW photos now, but editing them on Android is tricky. There are a few apps that do it, but they're clunky or as in the case of Lightroom, cost money.
