Win A DROID RAZR M, Galaxy S III, HTC One V, And More From RadioShack
It's that time of the year again - Android Police's holiday giveaway series is back, and better than ever. This time, we're giving away even more awesome prizes, and we plan on keeping this party going all the way until (and maybe past) the end of the year. Get excited.
Have you ever thought to yourself, "Gee, I wish I could get a real smartphone for $150 with no contractual commitment"? Well, you can. One with a 4" display, front and rear cameras, a microSD card slot, and a 1GHz processor. For half the price of the original Motorola Pebl (that thing cost $300 back in the day).
Thanks to the high cost of traditional cellular service, contract-free wireless service is becoming more and more appealing to many customers. Two fairly big names in both cellphone sales and pay-as-you-go wireless service - RadioShack and Cricket Wireless - have now teamed up to offer RadioShack No-Contract Wireless service. I kind of wish they would've come up with a catchier name. ShackMobile. ShackWireless. ShackPack. Boom Shack-a-lacka Mobile. But I digress.

Rumors have been floating around today that the HTC One X on AT&T is going to drop to $99 on July 29th. We're inclined to believe these rumors, as RadioShack just announced that, you guessed it, the One X will lose $100 off its price tag beginning on Sunday, July 29th, making it $99. This all but confirms that AT&T will drop the price in its stores and online, as well.

Customers buying a device for upgrade or new two-year agreement can save $50 when they spend $99.99 or more. The deal will run from now until Saturday, July 28th in stores, and until "the end of August" in RadioShack's online store.

With Samsung's Galaxy SIII (finally) hitting Sprint a few days ago, those looking to snatch a unit already have a few deals to take advantage of. The best of them (so far) is from RadioShack Wireless. RadioShack is currently offering the Galaxy SIII (in its Pebble Blue, 16GB form) for just $149.99 for those opening a new account or upgrading their current device.
[Updated: Here Are The Winners!] Mega-Holiday Giveaway #4: Win A Motorola ATRIX 2, A Samsung Stratosphere, Or A DROID Incredible 2
Mega-Holiday Giveaway #4
You thought we'd stop the prize train because it's Sunday? Well, here at Android Police, we give away awesome stuff seven days a week during the holidays, so we've got a bag of goodies for you today, courtesy of RadioShack.
A few days ago, we received a mystery package from the good folks at RadioShack. Inside the package were three phones - the Samsung Stratosphere on Verizon, HTC EVO Design 4G on Sprint, and Samsung Infuse 4G on AT&T. Since these phones are ours to do with what we please, we've decided to do what we always do when we end up with extra goodies: give them away.
RadioShack seems awfully pleased with its new partnership with Verizon, and to express its sentiment it is giving a $100 instant rebate for every Verizon smartphone activated with a 2-year contract. Those averse to arduous rebate policies (i.e. mailing in the form) will be pleased to know that the entire process of activation and rebate approval will be taken care of by an "awesome" RadioShack associate on the spot. The selected handsets include the HTC Thunderbolt, the Samsung Droid Charge, the Motorola Droid X2 and Droid Bionic.
Update: If you've been holding your breath waiting for this beauty, you can breathe a sigh of relief, as it's now available at RadioShack. Woot.
Motorola Photon 4G, Sprint's latest dual-core Android phone and EVO 3D's only true rival, is only 10 days old, but it's not stopping Radioshack from folding its price sticker in half and throwing it on a sweet-sweet sale - $99.99.
Sprint subscribers have been waiting with bated breath for news on the price of the upcoming HTC EVO 3D - and now it seems like that information is all but Sprint-official, thanks to Radioshack.
If you've been eyeballing the HTC EVO 3D in anticipation of a launch date, then you'll be glad to know that we're one step closer to achieving that goal. In a semi-unofficial manner, pre-orders for the 1.2GHz dual core, 4.3 inch beast have started at Radioshack - but don't expect to see anyone shouting from the rooftops to let you know about it. You see, while you can pre-order with a $50 deposit starting today, this is apparently a deal only for the informed crowd (such as yourselves), as it can only be honored if you specifically ask for it.
A couple of weeks ago we told you how to get the G2x for $50 from CellHub (it jumped up to $100 shortly after we posted the article). If you still want to score a G2x for less than $100, but don't want to order from a vendor that you've never heard of, then you're in luck. Today only, RadioShack.com is offering the G2x for $99 with any qualifying contract. That's right, it doesn't have to be a new contract like most deals - The Shack wants to give this hook up to anyone that is eligible for upgrade.
While T-Mobile still remains quiet about the Sidekick 4G's release date, it looks like RadioShack just couldn't keep the news any longer. Thanks to a tweet from the official RadioShack Twitter account, we now know that the Sidekick 4G will be available on April 20th. That's pretty exciting news for those looking to grab the newest version of the ever-so-popular texting machine, especially when combined with the $99 (with a two year contract) price tag.
If you aren't already chained to a smartphone contract perhaps this is a good time to get your feet wet and buy the HTC EVO Shift 4G slider from RadioShack for the low price of $69.99. You will of course also have to sign up for a two-year contract with Sprint.
AT&T has officially started selling the Motorola Atrix 4G for $199.99 with a 2-year contract.
The state of North American cellular contract plans might be something that makes Europeans shake their heads in disbelief, but when it comes to phone pricing, Americans have always had it pretty good. Hand over your soul for two years, get Phone X for free (after MIR). Well, it looks like AT&T doesn't think that's the best way to go. No, that doesn't mean cheaper tariffs; don't be silly. Instead, it means more expensive phones, of course! AT&T has just about had enough with the likes of Wirefly and Let's Talk offering their phones for free online, when they could be making $200 on them in their own retail stores.
The Shack has officially announced the Atrix launch details via their Facebook page. The skinny: it lands in the store on February 22 for $150 with a new qualified 2-year plan. If you buy the dock at the same time, you can get it for $330, at a total cost of $480 - or $20 less than you'll pay at AT&T. I'm not looking to beat a dead horse on whether or not that price is too much, so I'm going to skip straight to the deetz:
