LG announced a new range of budget phones back in May - the Q7, Q7+, and Q7α. They all have 5.5-inch 18:9 displays, with a curved glass front and metal back. None of them are available in the United States right now, but it looks like that will change in a few days. Support pages for the T-Mobile variant of the Q7+ have just been published and point to a release date of August 3.

While the Android One program was initially intended to be something more akin to what Android Go is now, it's still a simple, bloat-free version of the OS that gets faster updates than skinned OEM devices. Until Nokia decided to go all in with Android One, there was very little choice when it came to devices, but it looks like other manufacturers are coming around to the benefits.

LG's Q series phones are essentially more affordable, less powerful cousins to the flagship G series. The LG G7 ThinQ launched earlier this month and it seems like a passable high-end Android phone if a little unremarkable. LG's cheaper Q7 phones have now arrived, and they're pretty much as you'd expect in both the looks and specs department for mid-range devices. According to LG, they offer the same "premium features typically found in more expensive flagship smartphones." I'll let you be the judge of that.
