Long Hat House's metroidvania 'Dandara' is officially out on Android

The beauty of Long Hat House's Dandara lies in its controls. Since it exists as a metroidvania title that includes plenty of platforming gameplay, the use of a unique shooting mechanic for its movement makes it that much more palatable on touchscreen devices. It's refreshing how well this mechanic lends itself to mobile-centric gaming thanks to how precise your movements can be. And honestly, it allows Dandara's level design and gameplay to shine just as much as they would on any other platform.

Game Dev Tycoon is out on Android, and it is just as great as ever

Well, well, well. Look at what we have here. Greenheart Games has just released its video game business simulation title Game Dev Tycoon on the Play Store. You can pick it up right now for the low price of $4.99, which is a whole $5 cheaper than the PC version. And better yet, this mobile port is still a premium release, so there is no need to worry about any intrusive advertisements or in-app purchases.

OrangePixel's open-world survival adventure 'Ashworld' just landed on the Play Store

OrangePixel's Ashworld interestingly combines open-world survival gameplay with 2D platforming in a strange mashup of pixel-based post-apocalyptic madness. It was initially released on PC back in September of 2017, and it hit iOS three months later in December. But as always, Android users have to wait patiently for their turn. Well, it would appear that Ashworld has finally landed on the Google Play Store as of this morning and you can grab it right now for $3.99.

'57° North for Merge Cube' is a unique augmented reality choose your own adventure game

Mighty Coconut's first foray on the Google Play Store offers up quite a unique gameplay experience. Their title is called 57° North for Merge Cube, and it is an augmented reality choose your own adventure game that requires the use of a third-party foam cube from a company called Merge Labs, Inc. Suffice to say it may be a bother to purchase yourself one of these cubes, though the gameplay of 57° North is most definitely worth the added effort and cost.

Sonic Runners Adventure is out, but it's by Gameloft and not SEGA

Sonic Runners Adventure is quite an odd release. The first thing people will probably notice is that this title looks pretty familiar, and that is because Sonic Runners Adventure used to exist as a free-to-play auto-runner called Sonic Runners, but SEGA eventually pulled it from the Play Store back in July of 2016. What is interesting is that Gameloft has taken that now-defunct FTP Sonic title and has turned it into a premium release that lacks any advertisements or in-app purchases, and you can pick it up today for $2.99.

Take a trip down memory lane with 'Oddworld: New 'n' Tasty'

I feel like it has been a long time coming, but it's finally here. Oddworld New 'n' Tasty has officially launched on Android, and you can pick it up today for $7.99. For some odd reason, Oddworld Inhabitants Inc. had only released two of their later Oddworld games (Oddworld: Stranger's Wrath and Oddworld: Munch's Oddysee) on the Play Store despite the fact that the first title in the series has had an HD port on PC and consoles since 2015. So while the discombobulated release order of these games on Android is questionable, nevertheless, we can all now finally enjoy the first title in HD glory.

Capcom's Ace Attorney series of visual novel court drama games have existed for years on Nintendo handheld systems. While many have already been re-released on Android, one of the few missing from our platform was Ace Attorney Investigations - Miles Edgeworth. This is no longer the case as Capcom has just released the title on the Play Store, and it's even on sale for a limited time.

3D sandbox action-RPG 'Portal Knights' has been ported to Android

Portal Knights is an adorable looking 3D sandbox action-RPG developed by Keen Games and published by 505 Games. It was initially released on PC and consoles back in May of this year and has only recently been ported to Android and published on the Play Store. Its design is obviously very reminiscent of Minecraft, but it differentiates itself by including a few RPG character classes, a wide range of random instanced events, and plenty of epic boss battles.

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD is out for the Nvidia SHIELD TV, and it's still just as great as it ever was

Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater HD is without a doubt my favorite Metal Gear title, so you can imagine how elated I was to see that Konami has finally released it for the Nvidia Shield TV. Currently, it's on sale for $9.99 (regular $14.99) on the Google Play Store, but that's only for a limited time.

Square Enix has released 'Final Fantasy Dimensions II,' a free-to-play RPG that has gone premium

The sequel to the hit Square Enix RPG Final Fantasy Dimensions has just launched on Android and boy is it an odd release. For what started out in Japan as a free-to-play social RPG titled Final Fantasy Legends: The Crystal Of Time And Space, has now been transformed into Final Fantasy Dimensions II, a premium RPG released worldwide that costs $13.99. Of course, one has to wonder how this transition has affected the gameplay.
