Compete to be the best robber baron in this classic business simulation game
Sid Meier's Railroads is now available for pre-registration on the Google Play Store, the second Firaxis Games title to be ported to Android by Feral Interactive. While we haven't had a chance to go hands-on with the game yet, seeing as it just popped up for pre-registration, we can expect the mobile port to come with some quality-of-life features optimizing the game for mobile, and clearly, the spring launch isn't far away.
There's a new Street Fighter game coming to Android, but it's not what you think
Free-to-play mechanics abound in this exclusive Street Fighter mobile game
A new Street Fighter game is available for preregistration on the Play Store, published by Crunchyroll Games. However, those rightly apprehensive about free-to-play titles may want to think twice before preregistering for Street Fighter: Duel. The latest game from the popular fighting franchise boasts plenty of returning characters and stages, which is why you'll be tasked with collecting them to build the perfect RPG team. So if you're hoping for the same fighting mechanics you've come to love from the core franchise, forget it; this is looking to be another in a long line of branded cash grabs.
Torchlight: Infinite is in open testing on the Play Store for the next two weeks
Diablo Immortal better watch out; there's a new ARPG vying for top-spot
We've known for some time that Torchlight: Infinite would make its way from TapTap to the Play Store for pre-registration in the buildup to the game's global launch. Lo and behold, there's a fresh Play Store listing for Torchlight: Infinite, complete with pre-registration so you can receive a release announcement the day it launches, but there's also a second Play Store listing that offers access to an open beta that's rolling out right now. The beta is expected to last for two weeks ahead of the game's October launch, so if you've been curious to see how Torchlight: Infinite is shaping up and whether it will be a worthy competitor to Diablo Immortal, today's the day, you can install the beta directly from the Play Store right now.
Street of Rage 4 will launch on mobile with optional Mr. X's Nightmare DLC
For $3 the DLC nets you a few new characters and an excellent survival mode
Streets of Rage 4 is styled after the classic Streets of Rage games originally developed and published by Sega on the Sega Genesis. Twenty-five years after Streets of Rage 3, a direct sequel was released by Dotemu after reaching a licensing agreement with Sega. This game is known as Streets of Rage 4, and it's thankfully a fantastic followup, so much so that the game has seen tons of success across consoles and PC. Well, as of this morning, Dotemu, Lizardcube, and Guard Crush Games have announced that Playdigious will be bringing Streets of Rage 4 to Android and iOS this year.
Disney Mirrorverse is a visually impressive RPG now available for pre-registration
In case Kingdom Hearts isn't emo enough for you
Kabam, the developer behind Marvel Contest of Champions and Transformers: Forged to Fight has a fresh game available for pre-registration on the Play Store, and it's a Disney game themed around the Mirrorverse. As you would imagine, this divergent Disney universe allows Disney and Pixar characters to deviate from their traditional lore, which is precisely how you create a collectible gacha game where every character is empowered to fight against the evil force known as the Fractured. This game is known as Disney Mirrorverse, and it's coming to mobile in June, with pre-registration starting today.
There's a new Mana game coming from Square Enix — pre-registration starts today
It's time again to save the Mana Tree
Last summer, Square Enix celebrated the 30th anniversary of its Mana action-RPG series, announcing that Trials of Mana would come to the platform (having launched in July 2021), along with a brand-new title in the series called Echoes of Mana. Well, as of this morning, Echoes of Mana is available on the Google Play Store for pre-registration. Sticking to the series ARPG roots, Echoes of Mana is a 2D action RPG, and this time around, you're on the hunt for the Mana Sword in order to save the Mana Tree.
There's a new Hitman Sniper game coming soon, and you can pre-register right now
Square's back with a new entry in its sharpshooting series
There's a new Hitman Sniper game coming to Android and iOS on March 3rd, so says the Hitman Sniper twitter account. It's called Hitman Sniper: The Shadows, and we first learned about the game in 2021 when Square Enix announced it at E3. Pre-registration begins today, and you can register directly through the official site, or you can hop over to the fresh Play Store listing to pre-reg through Google's system. Hitman Sniper: The Shadows will offer a new story with six playable characters to choose from. Unlike the previous game, Hitman Sniper: The Shadows will land as a free-to-play release.
The Final Fantasy VI pixel remaster is now available for pre-registration on the Play Store
Start collecting those Magicite
At the end of December, Square Enix announced it needed a little more time to polish the upcoming Final Fantasy VI pixel remaster and that it would launch the game sometime in February. The first five pixel remasters are already available on mobile and PC, but of course, six is heralded by many as the best of the bunch, so it's likely the most important release yet. Thankfully it does appear that Square will hit its mark with a February launch, as the Final Fantasy VI pixel remaster just entered into pre-registration on the Google Play Store, a good sign things are on track.
Apex Legends Mobile enters pre-registration in select territories
The first soft launch is almost here
Last April, Electronic Arts announced that it would be bringing Apex Legends to mobile, launching the first closed beta test for its popular battle royale the same month. Clearly, things have been progressing with the game's development, so EA has just announced that select territories will soon be able to pre-register on the Play Store. The Play Store listing is already up, but only those who live in Argentina, Mexico, Peru, Indonesia, Malaysia, Philippines, Singapore, Australia, and New Zealand will be able to pre-register for the initial soft launch.
FarmVille 3 enters pre-registration in preparation for its global launch next month
Arriving November 4th on Android and iOS
Zynga has just announced that FarmVille will soon see a new release on mobile. This title is known as FarmVille 3, and just like the last two titles, it's a casual free-to-play farming sim. Tons of new characters are expected, along with new animals and an active weather system. Pre-registration starts today, with the release date set for November 4th, which is less than a month away.
There's a new The Lord of the Rings game on the Play Store, and it takes place in the movie universe
IAPs are back on the menu, boys
At this point, you'd think free-to-play developers like NetEase would have run out of brands to slap on top of the typical free-to-play genres we're all familiar with, and then a new disappointing announcement comes rolling in. It would appear that NetEase is working on a licensed The Lord of the Rings game, which just popped up on the Play Store for pre-registration. It's called The Lord of the Rings: Rise to War, and even though neither the Play Store trailer nor the screenshots show a lick of gameplay, we already know this title will land as a typical free-to-play kingdom builder.
Square Enix just launched a collection of Final Fantasy titles on Android
Final Fantasy Legend I, II, and III are now available on Android
Square Enix is notorious for its awful naming schemes, and Collection of SaGa Final Fantasy Legend is one of the worst names yet. Luckily the games within this collection are pretty good. All three RPGs were released on the Game Boy back in the day, known as Final Fantasy titles in the US. But this was back when Square didn't have consistent branding globally, so these games are actually part of the SaGa series. Still, they are great turn-based RPGs in their own right, and they hold up to this day (though these games are pretty challenging). We already know this collection is slated for release on Android on September 22nd, with pre-registration now available for the brand-new Play Store listing.
Indie darling Townscaper is a gorgeous city-builder making the jump from Steam to Android
Arriving in October, and you can pre-register right now
Raw Fury released a trailer in March that made it clear that it would be bringing the indie city-builder Townscaper to mobile sometime after the Nintendo Switch release, and today the game has popped up on the Google Play Store for pre-registration. While we still don't have a specific release date, a community trailer released at the end of August revealed the game would arrive on mobile sometime in October, which is only a month away. Clearly, Raw Fury is ramping up for the mobile release of Townscaper with today's pre-registration listing, which means this sandbox city-builder should launch on the platform sooner rather than later.
Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds launches on Android today
Servers set to go live later today
Read update
Square Enix revealed Dragon Quest The Adventure of Dai: A Hero's Bonds last year, but at the time, the game was only slated for a Japanese release. As of this morning, we now know the game is coming to the West with an English translation in tow. It's already listed on the Play Store for pre-registration, and a closed beta will kick off on April 7th, which you can sign up for on the official website.
Check out Battlefield Mobile's new Play Store listing ahead of playtests planned for autumn
Five new screenshots offer a first look at the upcoming shooter
Read update
Industrial Toys is working together with DICE to create a Battlefield game for mobile. This will be a standalone game, and Electronic Arts has made it clear that this mobile interpretation will be completely different from the core console and PC versions. Currently, we know the game is entering a testing phase per today's announcement, though Battlefield's mobile version won't be officially released until sometime in 2022, so it's still a long way off.
That Pokémon MOBA all your friends are playing on Switch lands on Android next month
Coming September 22nd
The last we heard about the mobile version of Pokémon UNITE was back in June when The Pokémon Company and TiMi Studio Group announced the MOBA would land sometime in September but failed to provide an actual date. This left both companies open to execute another announcement, which was made today during the latest Pokémon Presents. As of this morning, we now know Pokémon UNITE will be released on Android and iOS on September 22nd, and better yet, pre-registration is finally open on the Play Store, clearly illustrating the ramp-up to next month's launch.
PUBG: New State's 2nd closed alpha test is coming to 28 countries this month
It will run from August 27th to the 29th
If you haven't had enough PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds in your life, I have some good news, there's a new PUBG game coming to mobile, and it's called PUBG: New State. It's coming to Android and iOS this year, and supposedly it will offer an exclusive map, ultra-realistic graphics, and it should be optimized from the ground up for mobile play.
My Friend Pedro lands on Android as a slingshot-based platformer, and it's pretty good
It's a new mobile-optimized game, not a port of the original
My Friend Pedro is a Devolver Digital game focusing on tight, visceral combat, stylized visuals, and a trippy hallucinogenic story. And because that describes about 95% of Devolver Digital games: this is the one with a banana in it. The game got rave reviews when it released on PC and consoles back in 2019, and now there's a mobile version coming to Android.
Marvel recently revealed at PAX East 2020 that its next game is coming to mobile as an open-world RPG called Marvel Future Revolution. This title will serve as a follow-up to Netmarble's Marvel: Future Fight (not to be confused with the upcoming sequel for Contest of Champions), but instead of the linear design of the original title, Future Revolution will offer the same action combat wrapped up in an open-world design.
To the Moon sequel Finding Paradise is finally coming to mobile, and you can pre-register right now
Currently listed on Tap Tap, this story-rich RPG is also coming to the Play Store once it's released
Finding Paradise is an RPG Maker title. It's the sequel to To the Moon (already available on Android), a story-rich RPG, and it's coming to Android. As a matter of fact, you can pre-register for the upcoming release on Tap Tap. It would seem this is some sort of exclusivity deal for the Tap Tap store, though the game will also be available on the Play Store whenever it launches.
