The arrival of new Paranoid Android builds late last year proved the ROM scene continues to thrive, delivering Android 12-based updates to a growing lineup of phones. The OnePlus 8 Pro was the first device to get a Sapphire build, and as such, it's also the first to receive a major update. Sapphire Alpha 2 is in development for all compatible smartphones, starting with the entire OnePlus 8 trilogy — including the newly-added 8T.

Earlier this week renders of a new Poco X3 Pro were spotted from familiar leakers. It seems like a release for this boosted version of the Poco X3 NFC, which has been out for about half a year, is immanent: now it's showing up in retailer listings, complete with a set of specs. It's mostly similar to the already-released device, but the text teases more RAM and storage, and a Snapdragon SoC we haven't heard of before.

During a livestreamed launch event today, Xiaomi unveiled the latest in its affordable range of Poco phones. Powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G, the Poco X3 NFC is a mid-ranger that features an Adreno 618 Elite Gaming GPU with liquid cooling for the mobile gamers out there. An impressive spec sheet is coupled with a remarkably low price as the base model costs just €229 (£199).
