A couple of hours ago, the Android 4.3 system dump was leaked for the Nexus 4, and while I was digging through it, I found that it contained an updated Play Store, version 4.2.3. The latest Play Store currently used by Google is 4.1.10.

A new version of Chrome has hit the beta channel, and that means it's on Android in the Chrome beta app. Most updates these days are staged rollouts, but I'm already seeing version 29 on all my devices. No promises, though.
A couple of weeks ago, we were very excited to find a new, revised version of the Roboto family hiding in a leaked Android 4.3 build. Since then, I've been keeping an eye out for any more Roboto goings on.
With the new Play Store web portal having launched today, I thought I'd check in and see if it was using the new version of Roboto we reported on before. As it turns out, it isn't. Read More
Google just updated the web Play Store with a completely new UI that was teased back at I/O 2013, and it immediately caused a whirlwind of mixed reactions. We have a separate post coming up on all the differences as well as the features that didn't make it into the redesign (there are, unfortunately, a lot - even more than went missing in Maps v7), but right now I want to commend Google and address one aspect that immediately stood out to me within the first few seconds - speed. Google has officially launched the new web version of the Play Store, and it's a looker. The new interface is based around - you might have guessed - cards and sidebar navigation. I can't find a single page that hasn't been completely revamped. The new look is quite attractive, I think, and presents information in a much more clean, readable manner.

Facebook is apparently hard at work this 4th of July having just released a new update to its beta Android app. In case you missed it last week, Facebook started using the Play Store beta program to test new versions of the app prior to wide release. If you want in, follow the instructions we posted last time. If you're already in, get ready for a bug-squashing update.
As Android users and enthusiasts, we sometimes find ourselves curious about the continuously evolving interfaces in Google's ecosystem. Over the years, there have been a number of changes to the Play Store, once known as the Android Market, but we've never had the pleasure of learning how some of the big design elements came to be. This week, Nick Butcher and Roman Nurik of Android Design in Action invited a couple members of the Android design team, Marco Paglia and Owen Otto, to share details about their process. Read More
Falcon Pro is the latest app to take advantage of Google's new Play Store beta program, and the developer is testing out some much anticipated features. The UI is flatter and more clean, a new theme is on-board, and there is finally multi-account support. Rejoice, brothers and sisters. Your prayers (complaints) have been answered.
A new update to the Google Play Store app with version 4.1.10 is rolling out following the big 4.1.6 refresh from two weeks ago, just before I/O. As far as I can tell from a quick teardown and playing around, this is a minor update. All the important changes happened in the previous release, so 4.1.10 is likely a bug fixer. That said, if you see something I missed, please drop a line in the comments. Read More
