[Deal Alert] Verizon has Pixel for $15/month ($360) and Pixel XL for $20/month ($480) with free Google Home, plus other big discounts

Verizon isn't known for having the best prices so much as it is for great coverage, but that doesn't mean it can't offer up some good deals once in a while. Big Red currently has the Pixel and Pixel XL for just $15 and 20 per month, respectively, and it's throwing a free Google Home in. There are also some other nice deals available, such as the Moto Z Play Droid for $5/month and the LG Stylo 2 V for free.

[Deal Alert] Google now offering a free Google Home when you buy a Pixel or Pixel XL [Update]

Google might not have sold as many Pixels as we might have imagined, but it's trying to up those numbers. Earlier this month, Google started offering a $75 statement credit when you bought a Pixel with financing, but now it's swapped that deal out for a free Google Home ($129 value).

Google has only sold about one million Pixel devices, according to Pixel Launcher download figures from the Play Store

Of all the smartphones and tablets that Google has released in recent years, those from the Pixel line have likely sold the most. I've personally seen more "regular people" using Pixel phones than any Nexus devices, and that can be attributed in large part to Verizon officially carrying the Pixel and Pixel XL. However, since Google never releases sales figures for its mobile devices, it's been difficult to tell precisely how many Pixels have been sold - until now.

Google is rolling out new Android builds for its devices today, but it'll take a few days for the OTA to reach your device the old-fashioned way. The Pixel is a great phone, but it's not sold by most carriers. Google make it a little easier to afford this device by making financing available. It's rare that Google discounts devices on the Google Store, but you can get $75 off a Pixel right now if you use financing. There are some caveats, but not as many as most carrier deals.

Resold Pixel phones originally purchased from Project Fi are having their IMEIs blacklisted

Back in November, when the Pixel was slowly beginning to ship to customers, there were numerous reports of people getting their Google accounts banned for purchasing Pixel and Pixel XL devices with the intent to resell them. It turns out that this issue hasn't exactly been laid to rest, as it seems that Pixel phones purchased from Project Fi for this purpose are now getting blacklisted via their IMEI numbers.

ZeroLemon releases its massive battery cases for the Pixel, Pixel XL, OnePlus 3/3T, and Moto Z

We love the idea of ZeroLemon's battery cases for phones. On paper, they should provide more protection for our beloved devices while also letting us abuse them more and more during the day without worrying about battery level because the phone is constantly sipping on power the entire time. But in reality, some of ZeroLemon's cases haven't been well thought-out (exhibit A). However, it looks that the company has learned a bit from its mistakes and is fixing some of them in its latest releases.

The 4 newest ZeroLemon battery cases to hit Amazon are for the Google Pixel (6500mAh) and Pixel XL (8500mAh), as well as the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T (same case for both, 7500mAh), and the Moto Z (7500mAh).

T-Mobile announces spectacular attempt to steal Verizon customers by paying off their Pixel bills

John Legere has a well-deserved reputation for being an eccentric CEO. After spells at AT&T and Dell, he's now the top dog at America's third largest carrier, T-Mobile. His latest crazy scheme to pull US customers away from other networks is wonderfully simple: His company will pay off your smartphone in its entirety if you switch over from Verizon.
