OnePlus no longer exclusively sells phones with flagship processors; budget models are also on the menu now. Its most affordable 5G phone, the Nord N10 5G, is receiving a new OxygenOS update. There's not too much on offer, but it does include the latest security patch.
OnePlus has been rolling out a few software upgrades over the past few days, including the final update for the OnePlus 7 and 7T and OxygenOS for the Verizon OnePlus 8. Now it's time for the OnePlus 8, 8 Pro, and 8T to get a handful of bug fixes and the January security patches — even though we're now in February.
OnePlus recently brought the January security update patch to the OnePlus 7 and the 7T series, and the OnePlus 6 and 6T already got it last month. Surprisingly, the company's more recent flagships — the OnePlus 8 and the 8 Pro — had yet to jump on the bandwagon. While the patch still isn't available on the stable channel, it has arrived on the phones with the latest OxygenOS Open Beta 6.
OnePlus is currently hard at work bringing Android 11 to the 7 and the 7T series, and that's where it'll focus its development efforts going forward. The company has announced that it's releasing one final OxygenOS 10 update before owners can expect the Android 11 firmware.
OnePlus is diversifying its lineup with its budget-focused Nord series, currently comprised of the original Nord, the Nord N10, and the Nord N100. While we're still annoyed that the latter will only get Android 11 and nothing more, the Nord N10 has just received an update to OxygenOS 10.5.9.
The OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro were released about a year ago, and while the 8 has been succeeded by the newer 8T, the 8 Pro is still the company's top flagship. Both phones are now receiving a system update, though only in India and Europe — you 'Muricans out there will have to wait for the next one.
If you're a OnePlus 8T owner, you're no doubt familiar with the dumpster fire that was the OxygenOS 188.8.131.52 update released last week. Today's update, which carries version number 184.108.40.206 for India and North American markets and 220.127.116.11 for European markets aims to fix the bugs introduced by that update.
OnePlus used to be known for speedy Android updates, but those days have long since passed. While Samsung has already started updating mostofitsrecentflagships to Android 11, the same update has only arrived on two OnePlus phones (the 8 and 8T). OnePlus has now shared a status report on the OxygenOS 11 rollout, providing a rough timeline for the months ahead.
The OnePlus 8T launched running Android 11 out of the box, and to date, the 8 series is the only one rocking the latest OxygenOS build. While its predecessors anxiously await their turn, the 8T continues to march forward with a series ofincremental updates released in its relatively short lifespan. Now the latest OxygenOS release is headed out, complete with a long list of network and system fixes.
The Nord N100 — the more affordable of the two budget phones announced by OnePlus earlier this year — is receiving the December 2020 security patch along and a few other fixes with the OxygenOS 10.5.4 update (OxygenOS 10.5.5 for EU).
