Samsung's Good Lock modules prep exciting new features in anticipation of One UI 3.1.1
Icon theming is already available to try
Back in June, Samsung's Good Lock module NiceCatch confirmed the existence of One UI 3.1.1 by mentioning it in its changelog. Now the manufacturer is set to launch the Galaxy Z Fold3 and Z Flip3 next month, and we're expecting to see the debut of One UI 3.1.1 alongside them. While we may get fewer new features in favor of optimizations and bug fixes, the big release is still a little further out — One UI 4 based on Android 12, later this year. As we look forward to all that, several more Good Lock modules have been updated in anticipation, promising some exciting new features in the next version of One UI.
Samsung tries to lure iPhone users with a web-based demo of Android
"If you owned one of our phones, you'd be playing Fortnite right now!"
The very first time I ever used Android, it was loaded up as a live bootable partition on a MicroSD card shoved into my HTC Fuze. I'm sure the Windows Mobile installation on the phone's internal storage felt very jealous, because the rest is history. Samsung is hoping for something similar with its latest project: an interactive, web-based demonstration of Android made specifically for iPhone users.
After years of torturing customers with the hopelessly bloated TouchWiz UI, Samsung's software team has drastically improved the user experience on recent flagships. The latest interface is OneUI, and if you want to change the look of it you can do so using themes found in the Galaxy Store. There's little room for self-customization though, which is where a new app called Hex Installer comes in. It allows you to tweak every bit of the UI to your liking, including within some third-party apps, which is very reminiscent of Substratum.

Samsung is rolling out a new update to its Android browser today, and it's a big one. The latest Samsung Internet Beta (v9.2) is the first to adopt the company's OneUI design, which is hitting phones in the Pie update. That means you'll see various visual tweaks throughout the browser, but that's not all. Samsung also promises AI-powered privacy features.
