This is the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition: 10GB of RAM, orange accents, and 30W Warp Charging for $699

Sometimes a phone makes it all the way to release without so much as a tiny leak, but the OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition is definitely not one of those. We've seen images of the supposed new 6T variant pop up in the last week or two, and they were dead-on. The OnePlus 6T McLaren Edition includes more RAM, a faster charger, and a fancy orange stripe. It's a racecar phone, but the design is perplexingly subtle and similar to existing 6T variants. It'll also cost you more than other OnePlus phones at $699. Still, it's the "best" version of the 6T you can get.

The OnePlus 6T's in-display fingerprint sensor becomes faster with every use

Fingerprint sensors mounted under phone screens have finally made it to market, and the OnePlus 6T is one of the first phones with the new tech. In our review, we found that the in-display sensor isn't as fast as previous OnePlus phones' fingerprint sensors have been, though it's still quick enough. However, in a recent blog post, OnePlus explains that the 6T's sensor will actually improve over time.

Some OnePlus 6Ts have an issue with waves of static on the display

Based on a handful of reports on the OnePlus product forums, some 6T owners have run into a problem with their phone's display in which a pixelated sort of "wave" or pulse of bright colors travels up or down the screen. A reliable trigger can't seem to be found, but for those that are affected, it appears to happen more often on the lock screen while using either OnePlus' face recognition or the in-display fingerprint sensor to unlock the phone.

T-Mobile OnePlus 6T gets its first update, includes security fixes and improved Nightscape

One of the downsides to buying Android phones from carriers is that all system updates have to be carrier-approved. The T-Mobile 6T just received its first system update, which includes security fixes, adjustments to Nightscape mode, and more.

OnePlus' colorful new Thunder Purple 6T is fit for a Prince

OnePlus is calling its latest colorway for its flagship 6T "Thunder Purple," which might evoke in your mind a deep, dark color akin to a storm at night. But, the color chosen is a bit lighter than that. Although it transitions with a smooth gradient to matte black, the overall effect is more sunny squall than twilight tempest, and akin to Samsung's Lilac purple — though a bit darker.

Thunder Purple OnePlus 6T coming to US November 15th — also, thunder isn't purple

At launch, the OnePlus 6T was a sadly monochromatic affair. You could have any color you wanted, so long as it was black (in either matte or glossy). So if you were waiting for some more fun options — as the company is historically known to have — your watch is nearly over. OnePlus has just revealed that its Thunder Purple color for the OnePlus 6T is coming to the US and Europe on November 15th.

[Update: Expires today] T-Mobile offers $300 trade-in credit towards OnePlus 6T with 33 phones, including every OnePlus phone

As many had speculated, OnePlus is offering its brand-new 6T on T-Mobile. This is the Shenzhen-based company's first venture into US carrier partnerships, and to spice things up, T-Mobile is offering $300 towards the 6T with the trade-in of any one of 33 phones. That $300 figure doesn't make a whole lot of sense for the newer flagships on the list, but for the older ones, this could be a great opportunity to get a nice discount.

OnePlus 6T Google Discover (formerly Feed) option exclusive to T-Mobile model — for now

OnePlus has been surprisingly hesitant to illuminate the precise differences between the T-Mobile and unlocked versions of its phones, but gradually the distinctions are coming to light. Recently, it was revealed to us that the T-Mobile version replaces the OnePlus Launcher's "Shelf" functionality with the popular Google Now Feed Discover, and OnePlus remains tight-lipped as to whether the feature is coming to other phones, though it admits only the T-Mobile version has it for now.
