Downloads posted for OnePlus 6 & 6T updates delivering DC dimming and Fnatic mode

Last Friday, OnePlus pushed out an update for the 6 and 6T, bringing, among other things, the DC dimming feature from the OnePlus 7 Pro and previous Open Beta updates to the mainstream. OTAs rolled out over the weekend (sorry we missed it, I was on vacation) but in case you didn't get it or would prefer to manually flash, the company has posted downloads for the pair of updates today.

Opinion: The OnePlus 6T needs another price drop

Over the last week, I've been revisiting the older OnePlus 6T in the wake of using the 7 Pro as my daily driver for some months. While there are still things about the older phone that I enjoy (and frankly prefer, like the smaller size), I just can't recommend the phone anymore at its current $550 price. OnePlus needs to bring that price down closer to or under $500.

OnePlus 6 and 6T pick up DC dimming in Oxygen OS Open Beta 23

The OnePlus 6 and 6T just picked up a new Open Beta release, and while the changelog is pretty lean, there is one slick new feature coming to the pair of phones: DC dimming. In case you aren't aware, the AMOLED display in the phones used something called PWM (pulse-width modulation) to control brightness, which quickly flickers it on and off faster than we can see to approximate different brightness levels. If you're among those with a sensitivity to PWM, this is great news.
