Samsung releases third One UI 4 beta for Galaxy S10 and Note10
Samsung isn't forgetting the phones of yesteryear
Buying a Samsung phone used to mean interminable waits for OS updates, but today, Samsung arguably provides the best long-term software support outside of Google. Owners of the S10 and Note10 phones got their second One UI 4 beta several weeks back, and there's already a third version rolling out to testers.
As part of its efforts to bring Android 12 to its smartphones faster than any other OEM not named Google, Samsung kicked off the One UI 4 beta program for the Galaxy Note20 series in mid-November. The company is releasing the fourth beta for both the Galaxy Note20 and the Galaxy Note20 Ultra, suggesting the stable update could be almost here.

Is a stable release just around the corner?
If you’re one of the millions of Samsung Galaxy Note20 users out there, you’ve had access to the One UI 4 beta for a few weeks now. As with any prototype software, the new Android 12-based software has faced its fair share of bugs. As we get closer to the upcoming stable release in January, we’re beginning to see many of those issues addressed.

Look for an official release sometime in January
Ever since September, Samsung has been relentlessly beta testing its Android 12-powered One UI 4 update. It began with the S21 series and has continued with models like the Z Fold3, Z Flip3, and the S20 line of phones. Now Samsung's opening things up even further, extending its beta to Note20 and additional S20 users in the US.

If you're rocking a Galaxy S21, S21+, or S21 Ultra, and you want to check out the latest software goodies that Samsung is brewing up, you'll want to get involved with the One UI beta program. Version 4.0 is out to beta testers in the program today, and it has quite a few new changes. Chief among them, at least for owners in the United States, is support for eSIM cards, although this feature isn't working just yet. The feature was available previously in other countries and territories (as well as for the T-Mobile Note 20 and Note 20 Ultra).

US-based owners can try out Android 12 on their phones
In July, Samsung accidentally announced its One UI 4 beta would begin sometime in September for Galaxy S21 owners, skipping an x.5 update altogether to provide faster access to new software. With Android 12's release candidate now live, it's finally time for Samsung's beta program to kick off in style — well before its usual schedule.
