Yesterday, folks on T-Mobile began to see the OTAs hit their phones, but now, AT&T device owners are getting them as well. And yes, it's still 7.0 Nougat and not 7.1.

Cameras and displays are areas in which Samsung Mobile traditionally excels; quick updates aren't one of them. However, with the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge's Galaxy Beta Program, the South Korean company proved that it was willing to change that. Now, following a global rollout of a similar caliber, T-Mobile is rolling the official Android 7.0 Nougat update out to Galaxy S7 edge devices that were already running Nougat beta software. Given that the S7 edge is receiving it, it's fair to assume that the S7 also is, or at the very least, will be shortly.

We're finally getting a good, steady stream of Android 7.0 updates for major smartphones. Several months later than we'd like to have them, of course, but such is life in the current world of Android software. Today owners of the HTC A9 on Sprint get a turn, at least according to HTC's official support page. The page says that software update 2.18.651.2 includes an upgrade to Nougat, as well as bringing the core security patch up to January of this year.

True to its word, Honor says that Nougat/EMUI 5 is rolling out to the Honor 8 starting today (February 11). This comes via the official Twitter account and is great news for owners of the mid-range device.

The Xperia Z5 series (Z5, Z5 Compact, and Z5 Premium) was on the list of devices that Sony promised to bring Android 7.0 Nougat to. After releasing the update to the more recent X Performance and XZ, then the X and X Compact, Sony is now ready to bring Nougat 7.0 to the Z5.
The OTA has started rolling out to some Xperia Z5 and Xperia Z5 Premium users and will probably expand to the Z5 Compact soon.

We were contacted by Honor today in regard to this post. Honor's claim is that the March date is in reference to the review device we received for testing. March is not being promised as the timeline for the EMUI 5 / Android 7.0 update for owners of the Honor 6X. Instead, Honor defers to their original statement that it will receive the update in the first half of 2017.

Under Google's leadership, Motorola was perhaps the best manufacturer when it came to Android updates - besides Google, of course. They often released Android updates for unlocked devices at the same time as, or shortly after, Nexus devices. Unfortunately updates don't seem to be much of a priority anymore, with Lenovo now at the helm.

About two weeks ago, HTC began rolling out Nougat to the HTC 10, 10 Lifestyle, and One M9 in Europe. However, the rollout for the HTC 10 was paused due to an unforeseen technical issue, with the company estimating a fix due in February.
