Google promised monthly security updates for Nexus devices, and so far, the company has delivered. It's November 2nd, and we're now receiving this month's dose of security patches. Over-the-air updates are heading out to devices, but if you rather get the goods now, factory images are already up.

[Update - Comcast Customers Are Not Invited] HBO GO For Android TV Finally Available For Download

Back in May of this year we reported on the imminent expansion of Android TV apps promised by Google, including an app for HBO GO. The timeline for its release was originally "sometime this summer". Looking out my window at the sodden mess of wet, decaying leaves plastered to my driveway here in Seattle, I think it's safe to say they missed that deadline. Oh well, I guess late is better than never.

HBO Now subscribers have had access to an Android TV app since the beginning of the month, so it's nice to see the far more popular HBO GO app finally catch up.

Some Target Stores Are Selling The Nexus Player On Clearance For A Mere $25

Google launched the Nexus Player one year ago. It wasn't very good. Priced at $99, it was a hard sale. Now you can pick one up for half the price in big box stores like Best Buy.

Target was also offering the set-top box at that price, but now it appears to be moving units at even half that. Some folks are now finding Nexus Players at their local store priced at only $25.

[Deal Alert] Grab The Nexus Player For $50 From Best Buy Or Adorama (50% Off)

The Nexus Player was never really the best set-top box, and thanks to the NVIDIA SHIELD, it's not the best thing running Android TV either. Fortunately you can get one for cheap. Best Buy is selling the thing for half of what you would pay on the Google Store. Yup, only $50.

Amazon, Gunning For "Biggest Jerk" Award, Will Be Banning Chromecast And Nexus Player Listings From Its US Store

If you have a Chromecast or Android TV, you've probably noticed the one big glaring hole in content on those devices: Amazon Instant Video. Now, it seems more unlikely than ever that these devices will be getting AIV support, because Amazon is apparently preventing sellers on the US site from listing them altogether, and will remove all existing listings for the devices on October 29th.

Official: Android 6.0 Will Start Rolling Out To The Nexus 5, 6, 7 (2013), 9, And Player Starting 'Next Week'

So there you are, pining hard over one of the new Nexus phones so you can get your hands on the latest stuff Google has to offer. The anticipation must be excruciating. But fret not, dear friends, because good news is afoot: Marshmallow will begin making its way to the Nexus 5, 6, 7 (2013), 9, and Player starting "next week" — most likely on October 5th like we heard yesterday. That's also the day that we expect 6.0 to start hitting AOSP.

Like we said yesterday, the OTA rollout can be a slow one. But, like always, the zip file should be located with haste, and then everyone who wants it will be able to get Marshmallow, Now on Tap, and all the other fun stuff that comes along with the updated OS.

[Update: Nexus 9] Marshmallow MPA44I Developer Preview OTA Roundup

Nexus OTAs are a pretty big deal, even when they're not official releases. With that said, here are the OTA links that we have for the Android Developer Preview 3, build MPA44I. If the link for your device isn't shown, it means we don't have it yet. We'll update this post as links come in. As with any OTA, these are intended to be flashed in stock recovery on a completely stock, unmodified MPZ79M system. If you have modified the system (root, Xposed, etc.), these won't work. In that case, you should flash the factory images instead.

Still reeling from the reveal of the official Android Marshmallow statue at the Googleplex and the confirmation that the new version is Android 6.0? Well hold on to your butts, because there's more coming. In addition to the new reveals, Google has published the third version of the Android M Developer Preview. Presumably this latest release is pretty close to the final version that we should be seeing on new devices and over-the-air updates later this year.
