Verizon is in a giving mood these days. It has released Android 11 not for one but two Motorola phones. Both the Moto G Stylus and the Motorola One 5G UW are in for Google's latest stable Android release, complete with newer security patches (but not the latest).

Although Motorola has been slow to roll out Android 10 to most of its devices globally, the company is at least keeping developers happy with steady kernel source releases. Over the past few weeks, Motorola has released updated source code packages for most of its phones, accelerating the creation of custom ROMs and recovery partitions.

Earlier this year, Motorola launched the Motorola One 5G internationally, and we all thought it looked like a nifty phone that we'd like to see in the US. Motorola obliged and even said it would offer the device for under $500. The AT&T version launched some weeks back for $444.99, but Verizon isn't bound by Moto's promise. Big Red just unveiled the Motorola One 5G UW, and wouldn't you know it, it's priced at $550.

Motorola jumped into 5G with both feet in 2019 with the 5G Moto Mod, and the company has launched several smartphones with fully integrated 5G since then. Moto's latest 5G effort in the US is the Motorola One 5G, which will cost less than $500. This device will launch only on AT&T and Verizon, but Verizon's phone will add millimeter wave 5G, and you know what that means.
