Motorola has struggled to come up with compelling Moto Mod accessories, and its latest attempt is a partnership with Polaroid. The new Insta-Share Printer Moto Mod plugs into your Moto Z device so you can print your snapshots instantly on 2x3-inch adhesive sheets. Does that sound vaguely fun? Well, you'll pay $200 for the privilege. Read More
Back in the days when the Moto X could be used with one hand and Moto Maker was a cool new thing, Motorola was one of the best manufacturers with software updates. Since their skin is so minimal, anything else would be disappointing. But Motorola is not what it once was, and it's fallen behind in terms of software support. The Lenovo-owned company has just released its update roadmap for Android 8.0 Oreo. Read More
In light of the onslaught of 2017 phone announcements, it's fairly easy to forget about yesteryear's devices. Attempting to make us remember it (and to probably clear out inventory), Amazon, Best Buy, and B&H all have the 64GB Moto Z for $399.99, meaning that you can save $300 off of the MSRP. Read More
Android Oreo is all we've been hearing about for the past week or so, but it's important to remember that virtually every phone is still on Nougat. That includes the Moto Z and its Verizon sibling, the Moto Z Droid. Both phones have just had their 7.1.1 Nougat kernel source codes released by Motorola on GitHub. Read More
Motorola announced the Z2 Force at an event in New York City yesterday, ostensibly the 2017 flagship for the struggling smartphone brand, following up the Z and Z Force of 2016. The Z series is notable both for marking a major transition in Moto's flagship strategy, but also for the Moto Mods that underpinned the alleged reasoning behind that shift.
Motorola loves to toss out figures about the adoption rate for Moto Mods, but it hasn't issued any really solid ones in regard to which Mods people are using or how often they're using them. The reality is that this is probably because the battery Mod - the most painfully, glaringly, obvious use case for Mods - makes up the great bulk of that uptake. Read More
Motorola started sending out the Android 7.1.1 update to Moto Z Play devices in the US last month, and now it's also doing the same in Brazil, for that device plus the regular Moto Z model. After carrying out soak tests in the region, the final builds are starting to slowly make their way to users of both phones. Read More
Last year's Moto Z was an alright phone, but priced a little high considering its reliance on expensive add-on Mods. However, Amazon has a killer deal on the Moto Z right now. This phone, bundled with the Hasselblad camera mod, can be yours for $499.99. The phone by itself often retails for more than that. Read More
Back in 2016, Motorola committed to releasing twelve Moto Mods per year - a rather ambitious amount. However, it appears that the Lenovo-owned company hasn't forgotten about that promise, as it revealed six new Moto Mod concepts a few days ago at an event in Ghana. Moto has shown off Moto Mod concepts in the past (alongside production Moto Mods), but these are new. Read More
Those of you in the UK will probably pass on the deal alerts we cover, as they're usually US specific and don't apply to you. Well, your time has come. We've spotted a brand new, unlocked Moto Z for just £299. That's a whopping £200 off the retail price, and it's offered by John Lewis, too, so you know it's a deal you can trust. Read More
We love the idea of ZeroLemon's battery cases for phones. On paper, they should provide more protection for our beloved devices while also letting us abuse them more and more during the day without worrying about battery level because the phone is constantly sipping on power the entire time. But in reality, some of ZeroLemon's cases haven't been well thought-out (exhibit A). However, it looks that the company has learned a bit from its mistakes and is fixing some of them in its latest releases.
The 4 newest ZeroLemon battery cases to hit Amazon are for the Google Pixel (6500mAh) and Pixel XL (8500mAh), as well as the OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T (same case for both, 7500mAh), and the Moto Z (7500mAh). Read More
