At this year's IFA Huawei has taken the lid off its latest flagship phone, the Huawei Mate S.

It's easy to overlook Huawei. This latest device, like previous hardware, continues to look not unlike an HTC One without the logo. And despite sticking its toe in the US market, the Mate S isn't yet set to hit the US.

But in Asia, Huawei remains one of the most competent smartphone makers in the business. The Mate S builds upon last year's impressive Mate 7. It features a full metal body surrounding a 5.5-inch AMOLED 1080x1920 display. The sides, at only 2.65 millimeters, call out to bezel haters everywhere.
