When Google revamped G Suite with a new name earlier this month, it gave makeovers to a number of existing logos as well. Not everyone is a fan of the new look, but like it or not, the new icons have started to show up on a phone near you. It started with the Drive icon, then a wild Gmail icon appeared last week. Now Google Calendar is joining the fray, and you can get the update containing the new logo right now.
A couple of days ago, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau revealed that the company would be changing up its visual identity with some fresh branding and the new logo is now live. It might not be immediately obvious to you what's new since it's a very subtle adjustment, but the logo has been modernized while the typeface has also been updated.
When Microsoft released its Edge web browser in 2015, Edge's logo looked quite a lot like Internet Explorer's. Microsoft is now working on a new Chromium-based Edge, and it wants another new logo to go with it, which has now been revealed publicly.
Project Fi's been around for three-and-a-half years now, meaning it's not really a "project" anymore. It looks like Google may be agreeing with that sentiment, given that one redditor reportedly received this pamphlet with an unannounced "Google Fi" name and a new logo inside his/her Pixel 3 box alongside one with the current branding.
Sometimes it seems like YouTube is perpetually testing different interfaces for its Android app. Based on reports we've received recently, yet another set of modifications is being tested. The latest round of tweaks is on the subtle side: some are seeing the thumbnails for individual videos in the Home tab show view counts, with more space for video titles and the channel logo repositioned below.

It's new logo day at Google, and that means your favorite apps are getting a few icon tweaks. Several of Google's apps had the little 'g' somewhere, but that's no longer part of the logo. Now it's all about the big G, and Google is already updating icons on the web to reflect that.
Google's new logo is just the beginning. Naturally, given how many of the company's apps populate most of our Android devices, the change affects the experience we'll have on our smartphones and tablets. Google's new branding will obviously appear when you access the search engine in a mobile browser, but that's just the beginning. The changes are also finding their way into Android's dedicated Search app and Google Now cards.
Google has changed in unforeseeable ways since 1998, but its logo has remained largely the same. Things get smoother here, bolder there. Designers have tweaked the font and the shapes of letters, but we're always treated to the same six letters in the same four colors.
Logitech is older than I am. Not too much older, mind you - the Switzerland-based computer accessory company was founded in 1981 - but old enough that I can remember my dad using a Logitech keyboard on the home-built desktop he ran on a desk in the closet, back when having a computer in the living room was still a social faux pas. When the entire family upgraded to laser mice, an insane and futuristic luxury in the early 2000s, the friendly Logitech logo was emblazoned on all of them.
Take a look at your phone. Open up the Google Experience launcher (the default one on Nexus devices), or if you're using Android 5.0 or later, tap the "Recents" button. Alternately, add the good old-fashioned Google search bar widget to your third-party homescreen. Now, take a look at the left side of the bar: do you see a Google logo? Is it grey, so as not to call attention to itself, or does it look like a spoonful of Froot Loops, like the Google web logo?
It's been almost exactly 18 months since it was announced at I/O 2013, but Android Studio has finally hit version 1.0. Well, almost. This is a release candidate, so it's pretty close to what will become the first official stable release. For this release, the Android Tools team has been focusing on getting the bugs fixed and improving stability, but there are a couple of notable changes, as well.
This Nexus launch is without precedent—the Nexus 6 is big, expensive, and compatible with all the major US carriers. It seems like Google is trying to make nice with the carriers too. Case in point, AT&T is selling a Nexus directly at launch for the first time. However, an image of the Nexus 6 posted on AT&T's site shows the Nexus 6 with an AT&T globe logo on the back. Yikes.
Now that Samsung's Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition is no longer laughable because of its anachronistic gadget name, Verizon has decided to make it laughable with the carrier's standard enormously narcissistic branding. Go-to gadget leak guy Evleaks posted a press shot of the upcoming carrier version of the 10-inch tablet.
As if you needed any convincing, EVleaks has once again demonstrated that he's some kind of wizard at finding and disseminating press shots of upcoming phones. This weekend's leaks include HTC's shiny new One max [sic] in both AT&T and Verizon flavors, posted to EVleaks' Google+ account. We'd heard about a Verizon version from HTC at launch, but the AT&T model is new, if not unexpected.
Update: Verizon has updated the page with a pre-order date: September 6th (Friday) at 9AM Eastern Standard Time. There's still no word on a price or release date for either device.
If you take a look at Motorola Mobility's company branding, you'd be hard-pressed to find much that's changed since Google bought them almost two years ago. Today that changes... a little. The Verge found the logo above in the site for Techweek, a Moto-sponsored technology show taking place in Chicago on June 27th. The new logo surrounds the familiar "M" with a segmented color wheel, and swaps out the all-caps name for a softer font with "a Google company" beneath it.
