Those of you with pro—or maybe just moderately complicated—home entertainment systems know how much of a pain it can be to manage the various remotes involved. Even worse is if anyone other than you wants to operate them; I had somebody watch my pets while on vacation and I came home to see the TV on and static buzzing because my poor friend just couldn't figure it out. A universal remote like one in the Logitech Harmony series can make things much easier, so why not jump on board today when they are on Amazon's Gold Box daily deal?
There are two models, each refurbished, available:
The first model, seen on the left for $54, has never been lower than $65 before (was also a one-day deal) and has otherwise ranged between $78 and $100, according to CamelCamelCamel. Read More

Today, you can jump on the bandwagon at a pretty steep discount as Best Buy offers the white Logitech Harmony Home Control for $80, a discount of $70.
If that sounds like a suspiciously high discount, nothing is afoot. It's $50 below Amazon's price, too. The regular market price on this thing is from $125-$150, so this is a seriously good deal. Read More
Some homes are smart, and the Logitech Harmony serves as their brain. It provides a single location to control all the things, assuming of course that the products are supported. The latest update adds quite a few more to the list ranging from door locks to thermostats and a few things in between.
The new additions include the August Smart Lock (pictured above) that provides remote control over your doors. There's the Ecobee smart thermostat, which serves as an alternative to Nest. You can also now integrate Harmony with LIFX light bulbs as well as Insteon, which serves as a hub to all kinds of smart gadgets on its own. Read More
The Logitech Harmony Android app has received an update to version 3.3 that enables users to take control of their Sonos wireless HiFi sound systems from the comfort of their Android devices without having to switch back and forth between apps. The software should work from anywhere in the home and gives users control over volume, tracks, and playlists. It will also work with Amazon's spiffy Fire TV.
This provided screenshot comes from an iPhone, but the Android UI shouldn't look too different.
Other new features benefit Logitech Harmony users regardless of the hardware they're packing. There's a soft keyboard that works with Roku, Fire TV, Apple TV, and computers. Read More
