[New App] Hidden Lock Offers Minimalist Alternative To PINs And Patterns

Android's default lockscreen choices (PIN input and the familiar 3x3 pattern), while secure, are not the easiest or simplest to get through, even if you know the code. For those of you looking for a nice, clean alternative, Hidden Lock may suit your needs perfectly.

Upon launch, the app allows you to place your lock anywhere on the screen, and even change the size to be more secure. Once the lock is placed, you can test how it works.

[Concept] Honeycomb Lockscreen For Gingerbread

There's just something about UI enhancements that everyone loves. When Gingerbread first dropped, themers were scrambling to port it to multiple ROMs, and of course, it was no different when Honeycomb came out. Of all the wonderful things about the Android 3.0 UI, though, there's one that stands out in the crowd because it's drastically different from previous versions of Android: the lockscreen.

I can't say that I've talked to one person who dislikes the Honeycomb lockscreen; it's actually quite the opposite.

WidgetLocker Updated To v2.0, Adds Support For Themes

The long planned, much anticipated update to WidgetLocker that adds themes has been released, and it's every bit as awesome as we expected. Better still, there are plenty of existing customizations available, meaning that you have to do little more than shove your modified .PNG files into the APK.

How To: Replace The Lockscreen Clock Font

This has not been tested on devices with custom manufacturer UI's, such as HTC Sense. I can't actually check (as I don't have Sense anymore), but I would guess that it won't work as the lockscreen is completely different when using a manufacturer UI.

This morning on Reddit, I spotted an awesome post titled "I got rid of that stupid lockscreen clock font...," showing nothing more than a screenshot.

[Updated] Winamp For Android Arrives To The Android Market, Features Lockscreen Widget (!), Whips Llama's Ass [Hands-On]

Have I gotten a treat for you music lovers? Winamp, the very first good music player for Windows - and one I still use religiously to this day - hit the Android Marketplace today, largely unnoticed in the Androidosphere.

It's still in Beta, but after using it for 15 minutes, I was so impressed that I set it as my default player and uninstalled the others. Let me tell you why, in the order of importance.
