A minor update to the new, cleaner Google Play Store v4.0 started rolling out earlier today. The new version is 4.0.27 which follows closely the previous version from April 19th - 4.0.26.

If you use Google Search on a mobile device, but prefer the web interface, then your experience just got a bit better today. For starters, if you search for Rotten Tomatoes, you'll see expandable sub sections with links to areas like movies that are in theaters. According to Google, "many sites" will have similar functionality.
Additionally, for some searches, you'll see a blue "Quick view" badge that you can tap to get easy access to a Wikipedia page on the subject. Read More

Google is pushing out an update to the Play Store for Android with version 3.10.14. The difference in size compared to the previous version 3.10.10 from a bit over 2 months ago is about 14KB, and after ripping through the APK, I found no significant changes. There are some tweaks to the billing code, but from what I can tell, this is a bug fix release.

There are some tweaks to the in-app billing, checkout, and authentication code, but from what I can tell, this is a bug fix release.

Just after users began reporting that their Galaxy Nexus devices were receiving an update to Android 4.2 Jelly Bean (build JOP40C, to be precise), it looks like the manual update package is available for download. As could be expected, this coincides almost perfectly with the launch of Google's newest additions to the Nexus family – the Nexus 4 and 10.
Of course, it's worth reiterating that this is an update specifically for the Galaxy Nexus' Takju variant – that means only Galaxy Nexus handsets bought from the Play Store need apply (we're still waiting to hear about the Yakju variant). Read More
On the heels of the Android 4.2 dump from the Nexus 4, today we have a slightly updated version of the Google Play Store with version 3.9.17 that follows the previously released version 3.9.16.
Upon closer inspection and analysis, I found a new set of XXHDPI 144x144px icons for tablets with similar to the Nexus 10 high density as well as some changes to the code for recommendations and Play Store widgets, though I couldn't pinpoint the exact differences in those. Read More
