LG G6 most likely launches in US on April 7th, with Korea launch a month earlier

At this point, there is very little we don't know about the upcoming LG G6. It will most likely have a Snapdragon 821 CPU (due to Samsung claiming the entire initial supply of Snapdragon 835 for the Galaxy S8), a 5.7" display, and ship with Google Assistant. It won't have a removable battery either - LG wanted the phone to be water-resistant instead.

LG G6 will likely have a Snapdragon 821 processor and Google Assistant

LG's next flagship, the appropriately-named LG G6, will be revealed at Mobile World Congress next month. In the G6's latest (and possibly intentional) leak, CNET reports that the phone will have a Snapdragon 821 processor as well as feature Google Assistant.

Report: LG G6 won't have Snapdragon 835 because Samsung has claimed the entire initial supply

The LG G6 is the company's chance to come back from the embarrassing disaster of 2016's G5 and "friends." Those modular friends never caught on, but will the G6's rounded display? Maybe—the Galaxy S8 is rumored to sport a similar shape, but one thing the two phones might not share is the ARM chip. According to a new report on Forbes, the LG G6 will run a Snapdragon 821 instead of the 835.

Shockingly, LG has come to the conclusion that the mass consumer market is just not interested in modular devices — most especially when those modules require dropping more money in addition to the MSRP of the phone. And some of the modules were not exactly inexpensive. So, who's surprised about this? Anyone?

Renders of the LG G6 appear, no Friends modules to be found

2017 is right around the corner (thank goodness), and that means new flagship phones. Courtesy of OnLeaks and Gear India, renders derived from CAD data of the LG G6 have been released, showing a black, rectangular, slab-like object.

I joke, but in all seriousness, this is a departure from the ill-fated and generally badly reviewed LG G5 and its modular concept. On the renders, we can see volume buttons, a rear-facing fingerprint scanner that doubles as a power button, dual cameras and flash on the back, bottom-firing speakers, a USB-C port, a headphone jack on the top of the phone, and what looks like a glossy, possibly glass, back, although other renders dispute this.
