Well this is a bit of a surprise. When Sprint launched its carrier-branded version of the LG G Stylo back in June of this year, it didn't garner too much attention - it's just another big-screen, low-price device filling out the mid range, albeit with a somewhat novel built-in stylus. If you were to make a list of the phones you'd expect to see rocking the latest version of Android by the end of 2015, the G Stylo might be just in front of the Kyocera Echo.

T-Mobile's LG G Stylo And LG Leon Are Being Updated To Android 5.1.1, With A Wi-Fi Calling Fix For Good Measure

Well this is a pleasant surprise. The mid-range LG G Stylo and LG Leon both appeared on T-Mobile's lineup just a couple of months ago, and now they're getting their first significant updates. Significant in fact because they're coming to the very latest public build of Android. T-Mobile's support pages for both phones were updated this morning telling users to expect an over-the-air update to Android 5.1.1. Both phones (also somewhat surprisingly) ran Lollipop 5.0 when they first launched on the US carrier.

LG Announces The G Stylo, A 5.7" Low-End Phone With A Stylus And Not Much Else

LG G Stylo is not the name of South Korea's first robot hairdresser. Nope, it's a low-end LG phone designed around a big screen, a stylus, and not a whole lot else. The name, according to LG's press release, is a pun on both "stylus" and "stylish." Feel free to spend a minute or two letting that marketing decision sink in.

Ostensibly a sequel to the G3 Stylus, the G Stylo is probably the phone that circulated as the G4 in those rumors a few months back.
